Bonifant-Burns


William and Victoria Bonifant of Martinsburg, W.Va., announce the engagement of their daughter, Challice L. Bonifant, to William R. Burns III, son of Linda Burns of New Providence, N.J., and William Burns of Bethany, Conn.

Miss Bonifant is a 1995 graduate of Martinsburg High School, a 1999 graduate of Wake Forest University with a bachelor of science degree in chemistry and a minor in mathematics. She is a third-year medical doctorate candidate at Georgetown University School of Medicine with a concentration in tumor biology.

Mr. Burns is a 1995 graduate of The Pingry School of Martinsville, N.J., a 1999 graduate of Wake Forest University with a bachelor of science degree in chemistry and minors in biology and mathematics, and expects to receive a medical degree from Yale University School of Medicine in May. He plans to pursue a residency in general surgery.

A June wedding is planned.




Mowen-Brooks


Jennifer Chea Mowen and William Edward Brooks Jr. announce their engagement.

Ms. Mowen is the daughter of Karen Sandberg of Falling Waters, W.Va., and Michael Mowen of Hagerstown. She is a 1998 graduate of Hedgesville High School. She is employed as a credit manager at Citicorp in Hagerstown.

Mr. Brooks is the son of Deborah and James Shupe of Boonsboro. He is a 1998 graduate of Boonsboro High School and received an associate's degree in accounting and business administration from Hagerstown Community College in Hagerstown. He is employed as a manager trainee with Enterprise in Frederick, Md.

An Oct. 9 wedding is planned.




Schmitt-Householder


Julie Jean Schmitt and Fred Allen Householder announce their engagement.

Ms. Schmitt is the daughter of Donald and Trish Schmitt of Hamburg, N.Y. She received a bachelor of arts degree in psychology in 1995 and a master of science degree in counselor education in 1997, both from the Canisius College of Buffalo (N.Y.). She is employed as a school counselor at E. Russell Hicks Middle School in Hagerstown.

Mr. Householder is the son of Fred and Susan Householder of Williamsport. He received a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering from University of Maryland, College Park in 1994. He is employed as a product engineer with DaimlerChrysler in Auburn Hills, Mich.

A June 19 wedding is planned.
