Pet of the week

January 02, 2004

Myrtle is a four-month-old female German Shepherd/Rottweiler mix. She has a medium-length black and brown coat with a long and bushy tail. Myrtle seems friendly and affectionate. She has a shy, timid personality and would do best in a quiet household with older children. Myrtle is well-mannered and gets along well with both female and male dogs.

Pet tip: Spay/neuter benefits

Spaying or neutering a pet can help it live a longer and healthier life. A pet is less likely to develop reproductive-related health problems or stray in search of a mate if it is spayed or neutered. Spaying or neutering also will help to reduce the pet overpopulation problem. Even if homes are found for all of the puppies or kittens a pet may have, there is no guarantee that those animals will not reproduce.
