Two men sought in June armed robbery

Hagerstown City Police are asking the public to help them find two men wanted in connection with a June armed robbery on Hayes Avenue.

Police said they were looking for Michael Dean Ash, 23, and Robert John Bitler, 31, who are charged in warrants in connection with a June 9 armed robbery at a Hayes Avenue home.

Ash, address unknown, was described as being black, with black hair and brown eyes.

Bitler, whose last known address was 12934 Spruce Run Road, Myersville, Md., was described as being white, 5 feet, 10 inches tall, weighing 210 pounds, with black hair and hazel eyes.

Police ask that anyone with information on the men call 301-790-3700, ext. 234.

Car removed from lot without payment

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Pennsylvania State Police are investigating a possible theft of auto service from Over's Transmission Service in Guilford Township.


Someone dropped a red 1998 Chevrolet Camaro off at Over's, 153 Joynce Lane, for service. Employees received authorization over the phone to perform about $1,033 worth of work to the car.

Between 5:15 p.m. Monday and 7:20 a.m. Tuesday, the Camaro disappeared from the lot, police said.

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Pennsylvania State Police were investigating a possible gun shot into a Greene Township home Monday, police said.

Police believe a .22-caliber round may be what entered a rear wall of a home at 593 Cold Spring Road.
