POINT OF ROCKS, Md. - A Frederick County, Md., man died following a Monday morning wreck at the intersection of U.S. 15 and Md. 464 near Point of Rocks, Maryland State Police in Frederick said.

State police said Theodore Shadrick, 43, of Jefferson Pike in Knoxville, Md., was pronounced dead Monday at the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore.

Police said Shadrick was flown to the shock trauma center after a 6:33 a.m. crash between his 1990 Pontiac Sunbird and a 2001 Jeep Cherokee driven by Stephen W. Williams, 26, whose address was not released.

Shadrick failed to stop and yield to northbound U.S. 15 traffic at the time of the collision, police alleged.

State police Sgt. Robert Reid said the crash was still under investigation Monday evening. Reid said he did not know if Williams was injured as a result of the crash, and that a report on the incident would not be available until today.

The crash caused significant travel delays for northern Virginia-bound commuters using the busy road as the morning rush hour approached, Reid said.
