Samuel A. Hess

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Samuel A. Hess, 89, of Providence Place, and formerly of 838 Anthony Ave., Waynesboro, Pa., died Sunday, Dec. 28, 2003, at Chambersburg Hospital.

Born Dec. 24, 1914, in Waynesboro, he was the son of the late S. Edward and Elizabeth T. Haley Hess.

His first wife, Estes S. Smith Hess, died Nov. 30, 1994. They were married May 29, 1941.

He was a 1933 graduate of Waynesboro High School.

He retired in 1980 after 40 years with Landis Tool Co., Waynesboro, where he worked in the electrical department and later in electronics.

He was a member of Evangelical Lutheran Church in Waynesboro.

He was a member of Waynesboro Senior Center and National AARP.

He is survived by his wife, Charlotte M. Brown Hess of Providence Place, whom he married Feb. 14, 1996; five stepchildren, Terry L. Stouffer of Spring City, Pa., Andrea L. Gilbert of Chambersburg, and Dallas G. Mowdy, Wilbur S. Mowdy and Robert L. Stouffer, all of Waynesboro; 15 stepgrandchildren; 16 stepgreat-grandchildren; one niece; and five nephews.


He was preceded in death by one sister, Mildred Hess; and two brothers, Everett Hess and Robert Hess.

Services will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. at Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, Waynesboro. The Rev. Richard A. Seaks will officiate. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro.

There will be no public viewing. The family will receive friends Friday at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Waynesboro Senior Center, 912 S. Potomac St., Waynesboro, PA 17268.

Robin B. Storey

POTOMAC FALLS, Va. - Robin Boyle Storey, 90, of Potomac Falls, died Saturday, Dec. 27, 2003, at her home.

Born March 24, 1913, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Martin and Katherine Boyle.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Storey. They were married Aug. 31, 1938.

She was a 1931 graduate of Western High School in Washington, D.C., and attended George Washington University.

She was a member and greeter at St. Columba's Episcopal Church, Northwest Washington.

She is survived by three sons, Arthur B. Storey of Albany, N.Y., Richard B. Storey of Potomac Falls and Thomas M. Storey of Manassas, Va.; five grandchildren; two stepgranddaughters; one great-grandchild; and one stepgreat-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by sisters, Bainbridge Peterson and Anne Boulton-Smith.

Services and burial will be today at 10 a.m. at St. Columba's Episcopal Church, Washington. A reception honoring her life will follow the service at the home of Richard and Carol Storey, 46230 Allsbrook Place, Potomac Fall, Va.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Columba's Church.

Arrangements are by Loudoun Funeral Chapels, Leesburg, Va.

Dolores M. Papoutsis

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Dolores M. Papoutsis, 70, of 9 Kensington Drive, died Friday, Dec. 26, 2003, in Morristown, Tenn., as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident on Interstate 81.

Born May 4, 1933, in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late John J. and Martha Lanzavecchia Minotti.

She was a bank teller at Commonwealth Bank in Shippensburg, Pa.

She was a member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Camp Hill, Pa., and Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Chambersburg. She was an organist at both churches and vocalist at Corpus Christi Catholic Church.

She volunteered at Chambersburg Hospital.

She is survived by her husband, James N. Papoutsis; one daughter, Mary M. Osterman of Chambersburg; three sons, Nicholas Papoutsis and Thomas Papoutsis, both of Chambersburg, and Anthony Papoutsis of Woodstock, Ga.; and six grandchildren.

Services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral, Camp Hill. The Revs. George Daskalakas and Costas Keares will officiate. Burial will be in Corpus Christi Cemetery.

Visitation will be Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Robert G. Sellers Funeral Home in Chambersburg; and Saturday at 9 a.m. at the church.

Nellie M. Hull

LAS VEGAS, Nev. - Nellie M. Kretzer Brown Hull, 82, of Las Vegas, died Thursday, Dec. 18, 2003.

Born Nov. 27, 1921, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Mary Hines Kretzer.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Richard W. Brown.

She was a 1939 graduate of Hagerstown High School.

She is survived by her second husband, Robert Hall of Las Vegas; one daughter, Saundra L. Foreman of Ocean City, Md.; two sons, Richard E. Brown of Las Vegas and Michael S. Brown of Hagerstown; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Burial will be in Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City, Nev.

Robert T. Finster

Robert Thomas Finster, 83, formerly of Hagerstown, Md., and Tarpon Springs, Fla., died Monday, Dec. 29, 2003, at the Cumberland Villa Nursing Home, Cumberland, Md.
