City woman charged in robbery attempt

A city woman was charged in connection with the attempted armed robbery of a woman earlier this month, the Hagerstown Police Department said.

Police on Tuesday charged Wendy Lynn Ferry, 30, of 524 W. Franklin St., with attempted armed robbery, attempted robbery, attempted theft and first- and second-degree assault in connection with a Dec. 5 incident in the 400 block of Surrey Avenue.

Police said the 39-year-old female victim was approached near her home as she was cleaning the snow off her car. Police allege the victim was shown a gun and told to hand over her money.

The robber left when the victim said she did not have any money, police said.

Police said Ferry was being held at the Hagerstown Police Department pending an initial appearance before a Washington County District Court Commissioner.


Local woman charged after traffic stop

FREDERICK, Md. - A Hagerstown woman was arrested on drug charges Friday following a traffic stop, Frederick County Sheriff's deputies said.

Deputies said Amanda N. Turner, 18, address unavailable, was charged with possession of and possession with intent to deliver heroin.

Deputies said they stopped Turner's car for a broken taillight and turn signal at 12:48 a.m. in the 1300 block of East Patrick Street.

Deputies allege 18 capsules of heroin were found in the car.

A Frederick County Adult Detention Center spokesman said he had no information on Turner's custody status, including bail.

Frederick man faces drug charge

FREDERICK, Md. - The Frederick Police Department arrested a Frederick man in connection with a drug enforcement operation along Broadway.

Police on Tuesday charged Jason L. Davis, 21, of 300 Maxwell Alley, with possession of and possession with intent to deliver crack cocaine.

Police said they stopped Davis' car in the 200 block of Broadway.

Police allege a large amount of cash and $1,160 worth of crack cocaine was found inside.

A Frederick County Adult Detention Center spokesman said Davis was being held there Tuesday evening on $75,000 bond.

Employee charged with taking money

SCOTLAND, Pa. - A Mont Alto, Pa., woman was charged with taking $450 and a tube of facial cream from The Bon-Ton store at the Chambersburg (Pa.) Mall where she worked, Pennsylvania State Police said.

Police said Lisa McCabe, age and address unavailable, was charged with theft Monday.

Police said the money was stolen from cash registers since Dec. 1.

Stereo equipment stolen from vehicle

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Pennsylvania State police said stereo equipment was taken from a Guilford Township man's vehicle Monday.

Police said a Pioneer stereo, Rockford Fosgate speakers and other equipment were taken from the vehicle of James Verdier, 18, of 644 Greenfield Road, between 1 and 8 a.m.

Pa. man charged with eluding, fleeing

FANNETTSBURG, Pa. - A Fort Loudon, Pa., man was charged with fleeing and eluding police in Fannett Township early Saturday, Pennsylvania State Police said.

Police said Chris Alan Neil, 35, address unavailable, was arrested inside the Hillside Tavern on Fannettsburg Road at about 2 a.m.

Police said a trooper tried to make a traffic stop on Back Road after a vehicle went through a stop sign. The vehicle was driven behind the tavern where it became disabled and the driver went inside, according to police.
