Goldie M. Exline


BOONSBORO - Goldie Mae Exline, 64, of 18502 Lappans Road, died Monday, Dec. 22, 2003, at Washington County Hospital in Hagerstown.

Born Jan. 18, 1939, in Cearfoss, she was the daughter of the late Junior Albert Efron and Hester Viola Blair Stevens.

Her husband, Buck Exline, died in 1998.

She was a 1956 graduate of Boonsboro High School.

She was a homemaker.

She was a member of Battlefield Bible Church in Fairplay.

She is survived by three daughters, Linda L. Routzahn and Lana L. Miller, both of Martinsburg, W.Va., and Lori L. Exline of Boonsboro; one son, Robert K. Exline of Martinsburg; two sisters, Darlene Deneen of Martinsburg and Tootie Rodeheaver of Boonsboro; three brothers, Albert Stevens of Mount Airy, Md., Gene Stevens of Gaithersburg, Md., and Bud Stevens of Frederick, Md.; one half sister, Beulah Koontz of Pasadena, Md.; one half brother, Robert Sabine of Norfolk, Va.; and six grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Frog Stevens.

Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Osborne Funeral Home in Williamsport. The Rev. Paul G. Hawbaker will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Hagerstown.

The family will receive friends Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home which will be open after 9 a.m.

Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Washington County, 1500 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, MD 21742.




Nelva E. Smith


BOONSBORO - Nelva E. Burger Smith, 82, of Reeder's Memorial Home, and formerly of Hagerstown, died Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2003, at the home.

Born July 3, 1921, in Hagers-town, she was the daughter of the late Milton and Frances McClery Burger, and the stepdaughter of the late Rev. Chester Billman.

She was a homemaker.

She was a Protestant.

She is survived by her husband, Josiah Oliver Smith of Hagerstown; two daughters, Sharon K. Smith of Martinsburg, W.Va., and Patti S. Abalt of Hagerstown; two sons, Joseph E. Boward of Hagerstown and Rob L. Smith of Clear Spring; two stepsons, Harry L. Smith of Zebulon, N.C., and Allen K. Smith of Middlesex, N.C.; two brothers, Robert E. Billman and William A. Billman, both of Hagerstown; grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, Josiah W. Smith; and one brother, Jack R. Billman.

Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Donald E. Thompson Funeral Home in Clear Spring. The Rev. A. Paul Harne will officiate. Burial will be in Parkhead Cemetery in Big Pool.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 9 to 11 a.m.




Alverta M. Wheeler


WILLIAMSPORT - Alverta Mae Wheeler, 92, of Williamsport Nursing Home, died Sunday, Dec. 21, 2003, at the home.

Born Aug. 31, 1911, in Gresham, Ore., she was the daughter of the late Lewis and Catherine Wheeler.

Her husband, William M. Wheeler, died in 1971.

She was a seamstress with Jacob Brothers, formerly of Hancock.

She was a member of Price-Wesleyan Church in Little Orleans.

She was a member of Warfordsburg Grange in Warfordsburg, Pa.

She is survived by one daughter, Barbara S. Gaston of St. Louis, Mo.; one sister, Agnes Layton of Johnstown, Pa.; and two grandchildren.

Graveside services will be Saturday at 10 a.m., in Fairview Christian Cemetery in Artemas, Pa. The Rev. Darryl McClain will officiate.

Arrangements are by Grove Funeral Home in Hancock.




Opal L. Willey


MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Opal Louise Willey, 82, of Martinsburg, died Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2003, at her home.

Born April 23, 1921, in Great Cacapon, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late George C. and Cora B. Whisner Youngblood.

She was a factory worker at the canning factory in Berkeley Springs, W.Va.

She was a member of United Methodist Church in Great Cacapon.

She is survived by one daughter, Opal A. Chaney of Inwood, W.Va.; one son, Thurmond L. Willey of Berkeley Springs; one brother, Harold C. Youngblood of Panama City, Fla.; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by three sisters, Winona Robertson, Mildred Gloyd and Irval Michael.

Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

Arrangements are by Hunter-Anderson Funeral Home in Berkeley Springs.




Arley L. McNeill Jr.


Arley Lee McNeill Jr., 22, of 178 S. Prospect St., Apt. 2A, and formerly of Cedar Ridge Children's Home, Williamsport, died Sunday, Dec. 21, 2003, at Bayview Medical Center in Baltimore.

Born Dec. 29, 1980, in Raleigh, N.C., he was raised at Cedar Ridge Children's Home.

He was a 1998 graduate of Williamsport High School. He attended Washington County Technical High School's post graduate course in welding.

He was a freelance construction worker.

He attended New Life Christian Ministries in Clear Spring.

A memorial service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at New Life Christian Ministries. The Rev. Kenneth Harris will officiate. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

Arrangements are by Osborne Funeral Home, Williamsport.




William M. Myers Jr.


KEARNEYSVILLE, W.Va. - William Marvin Myers Jr., 74, of Wide Horizon Boulevard, died Monday, Dec. 22, 2003, at his home.
