Gloria E. Lentz


BALTIMORE - Gloria Elizabeth Lentz, 64, of Baltimore, died Saturday, Dec. 20, 2003, at Franklin Square Hospital in Baltimore.

Born Sept. 23, 1939, in Taneytown, Md., she was the daughter of the late Berline and M. Grace Bussard Kuhn.

She was an executive secretary for 29 years at Sears Service Center in Millersville, Md.

She is survived by one daughter, Kelley A. Mai of Baltimore; one son, Robert G. Lentz Jr. of Baltimore; one sister, Janice E. Myers of Eldersburg, Md.; one brother, Alan E. Kuhn of McConnellsburg, Pa.; two grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Stauffer Funeral Home, Thurmont, Md. Burial will be in Blue Ridge Cemetery, Thurmont.

The family will receive friends today from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.




Malachi L. Lounds


MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Malachi Lynval Lounds, infant son of Michael Anthony and Trina Scott Lounds of Martinsburg, died Sunday, Dec. 21, 2003, at City Hospital.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by one sister, Miranda L. Scott of Martinsburg; three brothers, Marquel X. Lounds of Martinsburg, and Kamar and Hakeem Lounds of Jamaica; grandparents, Bethel Burns of Martinsburg, Devin Scott of England, Daphine and Lynval Lounds of Jamaica; and stepgrandfather, David Dorsey of Martinsburg.

Graveside services will be held Friday at 3 p.m. at Pleasant View Memory Gardens.

Arrangements are by Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg.




Dorothy M. Hruska


MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Dorothy Marie Hruska, 85, of Martinsburg, died Monday, Dec. 22, 2003, at City Hospital.

Born June 6, 1918, in Morgan County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Edward Samuel and Pearl Butts Mason.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert T. Hruska.

She is survived by three stepchildren, Susan Young, Bob Hruska and Terry Hruska, all of Ohio; and seven nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Wilma N. Abrell and Virginia M. Kitts; and one brother, George T. Mason.

Services will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg. The Rev. Paul C. Stanley will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Gene N. Walkley Sr.


Gene N. Walkley Sr., 75, of 132 Stanford Road, Hagerstown, died Sunday, Dec. 21, 2003, at Washington County Hospital.

Born Sept. 12, 1928, in St. Louis, Mo., he was the son of the late Merton Main and Mildred Schmidt Walkley.

He retired in January 1998 from the General Motors Plant in Martinsburg, W.Va., after 29 years, the last 21 years as the Local UAW Health and Safety representative. He was a retired member of UAW Local 1590.

He received the UAW Walter P. Reuther Distinguished Service Award for his activities in the health and safety fields, locally and nationally. He was a member of the National UAW/GM Committee that developed the award-winning Hazardous Chemical Materials Right-To-Know Employee Training Program.

He was a former assistant director of the Washington County Civil Defense Agency; a former vice-president and a member of Ambulance Co. 49 in Clear Spring, Washington County Civil Defense Rescue Co. 28, and a former member of Ambulance Co. 29 in Williamsport. He was a member of Moose Lodge 2462 and Redmen Tribe 84, both of Williamsport.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Edith L. Schaefer Walkley; two daughters, Debra A. LeFew of Winchester, Va., and Janet L. Lung of Hagerstown; three sons, John M. Walkley of Funkstown, Gene N. Walkley, Jr. of Hagerstown, and David E. Walkley of Martinsburg; and six grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, Jan. 3, at noon at First Christian Church, Hagerstown. The Rev. Fred Harris will officiate.

There will be no viewing.

Mr. Walkley is an organ donor, and his remains are to be donated to a Maryland medical facility for training purposes.

The family requests the omission of flowers.

Henry L. Ruble


GERRARDSTOWN, W.Va. - Henry Lee Ruble, 75, of Gerrardstown, died Saturday, Dec. 20, 2003, at the Veteran's Affairs Medical Center.

Born Aug. 27, 1928, in New Martinsville, W.Va., he was the son of the late Ira and Olive Long Ruble.

He was retired from the Veteran's Affairs Medical Center.

A veteran of the Korean War, he served in the U.S. Army.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, V. Patsy Vandevander Ruble; two sons, Randall L. Ruble of Gerrardstown, and Michael L. Ruble of Inwood, W.Va.; five sisters, Louise Murner of Sistersville, W.Va., Helen Blizzard and Wilma Yost, both of Middlebourne, W.Va., JoAnn Murner of Paden City, W.Va., and Eileen Reed of Alliance, Ohio; two brothers, Woodrow Ruble of Alliance and Ira Ruble of Alma, W.Va.; and one grandson.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Ruble and William Ruble.
