Mail Call

December 23, 2003

"I am calling in reference to the person who wanted the typewriter. Please call 301-733-8219. It is terrible the way Charley Reese writes about Bush. He has a one track mind. He is even against Israel."

"For Jeff Long and our town employees of Williamsport. I sure hope to see more letters of thanks in Mail Call for such a fantastic job they do on snow removal. We thank you for a job well done. Thanks to Amy, Jamie and Judy and Bonnie. Folks, come see our beautifully decorated park. Thanks to the town guys who work so hard to get it done. Thanks for all the hard work you put into this town."

"Thanks to Diane for being a great mail carrier and a very nice person. Phyllis, you aren't out carrying the mail, but you are inside doing the mail, you are very kind too."

"To the person who said that the United States is the one who caused the trouble in Iraq that put Saddam in power. It wasn't the United States, it was Britain. I think you should study your history a little bit."

"I am returning the call to the person who wants the teddy bears. Please call me at 301-790-2642."

"I think we are having a few too many of these two-hour delays and early closings. For every three of these, a full day of school should be made up."

"Here we go again, local employer, please send in to Social Services all of the child support money that you have collected from our children's' fathers. You know who you are."

"I find the Greater Hagerstown Committee recommendation interesting. But the best interest of the community will only be served if the hospital remains in the city."

"Don't the powers that be in Hagerstown realize that if they built the hospital in the East End of Hagerstown, all that garbage that they tear down, all the houses and one or two factories, that all that garbage would fill up the landfill? Where would they get the money to buy another landfill?"

"Someone in Mail Call was looking for a good used typewriter. If you would leave the number of what outfit or organization you were with, I would prefer to do it that way."

"I bet neither the mayor nor the members of the City Council has spent one day visiting the wonderful Winchester Medical Center, which is on the outskirts of Winchester, Va. It was moved there some years ago, due to overcrowding and congestion in the downtown area, where it was previously located. I know of no complaints by fire and rescue personnel, police, etc. on the location and the ability to get there in an emergency. I also bet that the lengthy article on Mayor Brei-chner in the Dec. 16 Daily Mail was written by one of the high priced Baltimore lawyers. It's time that the people on the City Council and the mayor get on the move with the new hospital, where it should be. It is costing us more money every day this is delayed."

"I am the lady who was looking for a SpongeBob SquarePants stuffed animal. I am so grateful for you doing this. My son will be the happiest kid now at Christmas. Here is my cell phone number, call me 240-675-0018, my name is Tanya. I don't know how I can ever thank you. I hope you have the best Christmas ever. May God bless you and your family."
