A man who pleaded guilty to a charge of failing to register as a child sexual offender was sentenced to prison time and a fine Wednesday, court records say.

Washington County District Court Judge Ralph France II sentenced Bryan L. Haines, 24, whose last known address was 3 Maple Ave., in Hagerstown, to 90 days in prison, records say. However, all but 55 days of the sentence were suspended, according to records.

Haines also received a $3,000 fine and 18 months of supervised probation, records say.

Haines failed to notify the Sex Offender Registry Unit in Pikesville, Md., when he moved in November, records say. Registrants must notify the unit, in writing, within seven days of an address change.
