Rockets down Indians in overtime

WAYNESBORO, Pa. - James Buchanan's Shase Hollenshead hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer to send the game to overtime and the Rockets rallied for a 65-62 Mid-Penn Colonial victory over Waynesboro Tuesday night.

Hollenshead finished with 20 points, while Drew Hostler had 16 and Shane Rife added 10 for JB.

Scott Livengood led Waynesboro (2-5, 2-2) with 16 points, while Kevin Sanders had 15 and Earl Hewitt added 14. Bryce Rodgers had six rebounds in the loss.

Linganore 70, North 67

NEW MARKET, Md. - Joe Alexander scored a game-high 25 points as Linganore remained undefeated and knocked North Hagerstown from the unbeaten.

Leif Jackson added 14 points for the Lancers (3-0).

Marshall Branch led North (3-1) with 18 points, while Bernard Harris added 15 to go with eight rebounds. Quielan Gantt had 13 points and Matt Armstrong had 11 points, six assists and seven steals in the loss.

Tussey Mountain 79 Southern Fulton 74

SAXTON, Pa. - Tussey Mountain made game-tying field goals at the end of regulation and at the end of the first overtime, before pulling away in the second overtime to defeat Southern Fulton.

Tussey Mountain hit a 3-pointer with four seconds remaining in regulation and a mid-range jumper with seven seconds left in the first overtime to force the second OT.

Will Schriver led Southern Fulton with 20 points and 12 rebounds, while Brock Flowers added 17 points. Jay Ifer had 13 points, 12 rebounds and eight assists and Danny True had 20 rebounds and eight assists for the Indians.

Brunswick 67, Urbana 63

IJAMSVILLE, Md. - Brunswick rallied from an eight-point halftime deficit and Chad Baker made the go-ahead basket on an offensive putback in the final minute as the Railroaders edged Urbana for their first win of the season.

Jason Anderson had 29 points and 22 rebounds and Baker hauled in 11 boards for Brunswick (1-3). Cody Hickerson had 11 points and eight assists and made two crucial steals within the final minute to help seal the victory.

Sidwell Friends 66, St. James 44

ST. JAMES - St. James struggled from the free-throw line for the second straight game - hitting just three of 12 shots - and the Saints fell to Sidwell Friends in the Mid-Atlantic Conference.

The Saints (3-2, 0-2) managed to defeat Heritage Academy last Friday, despite a 4 of 10 performance from the line, but couldn't overcome a poor effort against Friends.

Jordan Ottley had 12 points and five rebounds and Dunmola Olanrewaju had a team-high 10 rebounds in the loss.

Nasser Muhammad had 24 points, while Chris Renninger and Sam Moser each added nine for Friends (2-2, 1-0).

Mercersburg 64, Bullis 61

MERCERSBURG, Pa. - Mercersburg Academy outscored Bullis School 20-9 in the third quarter to erase a 31-21 halftime defecit and the Blue Storm went on to defeat the Bulldogs in overtime.

Shawn Christiansen led all scorers with 22 points, while Norman Winn had 12 and James Craft added 10 for Mercersburg (1-1). Eric Rahauser grabbed eight rebounds to go with his nine points in the victory.

Travis Lay had 21 points to lead Bullis.

Williamsport 63, Winters Mill 53

WESTMINSTER, Md. - David Warrenfeltz and Will Roney each scored 13 points to lead Williamsport past Winters Mill. Phillip Jordan scored five points and pulled down 10 rebounds for the Wildcats (2-0).

Thomas Johnson 64, South Carroll 36

SYKESVILLE, Md. - Colby Jackson led Thomas Johnson with 15 points, while Jair Brady had 13 points and Drew Gaeng had nine points and 10 assists for the Patriots (1-1).

Heritage 80, Calvary 55

Drew Kidd led Heritage Academy over Calvary Christian with 20 points, 12 assists, 10 rebounds and seven steals.

Chuck Harrell added 18 points and 10 rebounds for Heritage (2-3, 1-0), while Zack Hartman scored 13 points.

Ryan Cheney scored 15 points for Calvary (2-2, 1-1).

McConnellsburg 56, Hyndman 41

HYNDMAN, Pa. - Dave Thomas had 24 points and 16 rebounds, and Matt Spriggs took apart Hyndman's zone defense with 16 assists in McConnellsburg's victory.

Josh Lowery had 12 points and Scott Earley added 10 for the Spartans (5-3).


Walkersville 65, Boonsboro 28

WALKERSVILLE, Md. - Chelsea Trout had 14 points and six rebounds to lead Walkersville to a rout of Boonsboro.

D.J. Vernoy and Ronetta Walker each had 11 points and Gina Casadei added 10 for the Lions (4-0). Vernoy and Ashton Beahm each had eight rebounds.

Brittany Hewett had 12 points for Boonsboro (1-2).

Thomas Johnson 63, South Carroll 47

FREDERICK, Md. - Sam Koehl had 24 points and Kim Wilson added 20 points to go with nine rebounds as Thomas Johnson rolled past South Carroll.

Koehl also made five steals and Erin Dickman grabbed nine rebounds for the Patriots (2-1). Abra Like had eight rebounds and six steals in the win.

Winters Mill 51, Williamsport 39

WILLIAMSPORT - Lindsey Plotner had 19 points, but it wasn't enough as Williamsport fell to Winters Mill.

Staci Grabill added 12 points for the Wildcats (1-2), who made only seven of 16 free throws.

Allie Drechsler had 20 points to lead Winters Mill.
