WALKERSVILLE, Md. - Brock McCollum had a double-double, scoring 21 points and adding 17 rebounds for Walkersville as the Lions defeated Urbana 81-58 on Monday.

Chris Hannigan had 12 points and 12 rebounds, Dave Berry had 12 points, 12 assists and three steals, and Luther Weedon scored 13 points for the Lions (2-1).

Poolesville 82 Brunswick 72

POOLESVILLE, Md. - Jason Anderson had 22 points, 20 rebounds and four blocked shots for Brunswick.

Bill Bernard had 18 points and six assists for Brunswick (0-3).

Cumberland Valley 66 Chambersburg 59

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Jonathan Motichka led Chambersburg with 19 points in its loss to Cumberland Valley.

Chas Rahauser had 16 points and Colby Nitterhouse added 14 points for the Trojans (4-3, 3-2).

Waynesboro 58 Shippensburg 55

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. - Scott Livengood's jumper in the closing moments put Waynesboro up for good in the Indians' victory over Shippensburg.

Bryce Rodgers had 19 points and seven rebounds, while Earl Hewitt had 15 points and five assists for Waynesboro (2-4, 2-1).



Summers County 49 Berkeley Springs 23

CHARLESTON, W.Va - Danielle Fox led Berkeley Springs (1-1) with nine points in a loss to Summers County in the Charleston Hoops Classic.

McConnellsburg 70 Hyndman 21

McCONNELLSBURG, Pa. - Jade Anthony scored 12 of her game-high 24 points in the first quarter as McConnellsburg routed Hyndman.

The Spartans (1-4) led 43-13 at halftime and never allowed a Hyndman assist in the game.

Tussey Mountain 68 Southern Fulton 37

WARFORDSBURG, Pa. - Jessie Wigfield had 12 points and eight rebounds for Southern Fulton as the Indians (5-1) suffered their first loss of the season.


Hovermale, White earn titles at Kent Tourney

Smithsburg 145-pounder Justin Hovermale and 189-pounder Scott White won their weight classes Saturday at the Kent Invitational Tournament.

Logan Miss (103), Nate Hayes (171) and Mike Rinebolt (275) finished second in their weight classes. Derek Quillen (135), Dylan Miss (152) and Jeff Sprecher (160) finished third and Wes McKenen (125), Tony Cacciola (130), Matt Leeney (140) and James Whitt (215) finished fourth.


Baltimore 106, HCC 102

BALTIMORE - The Community College of Baltimore made 11 3-pointers and 23 of 24 foul shots to shoot down Hagerstown Community College in the Hawks' first loss of the season.

Quan Griffin (20 points) and Fernando Moore (12 points) had four 3s each and James Taylor (32 points) added three 3s for Baltimore (2-6). Dave Collier had 15 points and Victor Molen added 11.

Rexson Kenley had a double-double for the Hawks (9-1) with 31 points and 10 assists, and added five steals. Terrell Kittelberger had 23 points and four blocks and Jamal Kittelberger added 12 points and nine rebounds.


Shank leads way for Delaware Valley

Delaware Valley freshman and Clear Spring High School graduate Ryan Shank led the men's cross country team by finishing 72nd out of 125 competitiors at the Middle Atlantic Conference Championships in 31 minutes, 14.89 seconds.

Shank finished sixth out of 68 runners at the Delaware Valley Invitational, his first meet of the season.

Freshman Brian Forsythe, a Williamsport High School graduate, finished 115th in the MAC Championships in 35:21.78 for Delaware Valley.

Volleyball club holding tryouts

The Eastern Panhandle Volleyball Club will be holding both 16-under and 18-under tryouts Sunday from 1-3 p.m.

Tryouts will be held at the Clarion Hotel and Conference Center in Shepherdstown, W.Va. Tryout fee is $30.
