Jackson O. Kitzmiller


WILLIAMSPORT - Jackson Ogle "Jack" Kitzmiller, 87, of 16505 Virginia Ave., died Friday, Dec. 12, 2003, at Washington County Hospital.

Born Feb. 7, 1916, in Chambersburg, he was the son of the late George H. and Pearl Dunlap Kitzmiller.

He was a graduate of Hagerstown High School.

He retired from Danzer Metal Works.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, where he served on the church council, and other committees.

He served as president of Homewood Residents Association.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Helen Dayhoff Kitzmiller; one daughter, Janet Lagenstein of Hagerstown; one sister, Marie Barnhart of Hagerstown; one brother, James Kitzmiller of Aberdeen, Md.; two grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Lucille Rudy and Martha Froehlich; and two brothers, Burdette Kitzmiller and George Kitzmiller.

Services will be Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hagerstown. The Rev. Quentin Fleming will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery in Hagerstown.

The family will receive friends Monday from 3 to 5 p.m. at Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home in Hagerstown; and Tuesday from 10 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.

Memorial donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.




Sylvia D. Naimo


Sylvia DiLonardo Naimo, 89, of 17300 Diane Drive, Hagerstown, died Saturday, Dec. 13, 2003, at her home.

Born July 3, 1914, in Plainfield, N.J., she was the daughter of the late Mauro and Jelsomina DiAdamo DiLonardo.

She was employed as an assistant librarian for the Bookmobile.

She was a member of Sons of Italy.

She was a surveyor with Clue I of the Washington County Health Department.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Fred J. Naimo; two daughters, Anita N. Hennesy of Hagerstown and Kathryn N. Izon of College Heights, Md.; one brother, Daniel DiLonardo of Columbus, N.J.; and two grandchildren.

Services will be private.

There will be no visitation.

Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Washington County, 1500 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, MD 21742.

Arrangements are by Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, Hagerstown.




Morris C. Fry


THURMONT, Md. - Morris Clinton Fry, 63, of 1 W. Moser Road, died Friday, Dec. 12, 2003, at Frederick Memorial Hospital in Frederick, Md.

Born Jan. 2, 1940, in Sabillasville, Md., he was the son of the late Paul C. and Helen Willard Fry.

He was employed by J.M. Bucheimer Co.

He was a member of the National Guard.

He was a member of the Studebaker Club; National Guard 29th Division Association; Lantern Post 729 of Waynesboro, Pa.; and American Legion Post 0297 of Baltimore.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Dolores V. Fisher Fry; one daughter, Kristi J. Saunders of Pennsylvania; one son, Jeffrey C. Fry of Brunswick, Md.; one sister, Janet Trimble-Barton of the Eastern Shore of Maryland; two brothers, P. Wayne Fry and Ray Fry, both of Waynesboro; two grandsons; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one son, Mark A. Fry.

Services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Robert E. Dailey and Son Funeral Home in Thurmont. The Rev. Roger E. Rollins will officiate. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Frederick.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from noon to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.




Christina M. Cole


INWOOD, W.Va. - Christina Mae Cole, 60, of Inwood, died Friday, Dec. 12, 2003, at City Hospital in Martinsburg, W.Va.

Born Oct. 2, 1943, in Berkeley County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Junior A. and Mildred Ida Virginia Crawford Baumgardner.

She was a member of Full Gospel Pentecostal Church in Middleway, W.Va.

She is survived by her husband, James D. Cole; four daughters, Joanna Cole and Tracey Crothers, both of Martinsburg, April Ballinger of Hedgesville, W.Va., and Stephanie Cole of Inwood; four sons, James Cole of Inwood, Timothy Cole, Jeffery Cole and Daniel Cole, all of Martinsburg; two sisters, Rebecca Domer of Indiana and Elizabeth Connard of Florida; two brothers, Charles A. Baumgardner and Frank L. Baumgardner, both of Martinsburg; and 17 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Tina Cole.

Services will be Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home in Martinsburg. The Revs. Johnny Faircloth and Edward Myers will officiate. Burial will be in Mountain Side Tabernacle Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.




Iris P. Francis


BAILEY, N.C. - Iris Pearson Francis, 83, of Bailey, died Friday, Dec. 12, 2003.

Born June 8, 1920, in Wilson, N.C., she was the daughter of Harvey and Lillian Wilson Pearson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul F. Francis.

She was a registered nurse, retiring from Wilson Memorial Hospital.

She was a member of Shiloh Pentecostal Holiness Church, where she was active in the Bible Class and Women's Ministries.

She was a member of Carolina General Nurses Alumni; a volunteer of the American Red Cross; and the Country Doctor's Museum; a member of Golden Years Club; Bailey Book Club; and the Fun Club.

She is survived by one daughter, Helen F. Godwin of Frederick, Md.; one son, Frederick Francis of Winston-Salem, N.C.; one sister, Martha Sue P. Taylor of Raleigh, N.C.; two brothers, Ray Pearson of Wilmington, N.C. and Curtis Pearson of Durham, N.C.; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Johnnie Pearson.

Services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Shiloh Pentecostal Holiness Church in Wilson. The Revs. David Wood and Elwood Long will officiate. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park in Wilson.

The family will receive friends Monday from 6 to 9 p.m. at Joyner's Funeral Home in Wilson.
