Ga. woman charged with child abduction

An Atlanta woman being held at the Washington County Detention Center Tuesday evening was charged with child abduction a year after she allegedly did not relinquish her daughter to the girl's father.

Jonita Lasean Anderson Walker, 32, is charged with abducting a child younger than 12, harboring a child younger than 12 and six other related charges. She had a prior address listed in Hagerstown.

Raymond L. Deas, of Hampton, Va., filed for the charges in August, a year after a Washington County Circuit judge awarded him custody of Deas and Anderson Walker's child together, according to documents filed in Circuit and District courts.

Anderson Walker appealed the ruling but eventually lost, according to court files.

Anderson Walker was taken into custody Monday by the Washington County Sheriff's Department and given a $600,000 bond before a District Court commissioner. Her bail was reduced Tuesday to $120,000.

Hagerstown woman charged with assault

A Hagerstown woman was charged Monday with assault after she allegedly brandished a knife at her husband of one year, according to charging documents.

Robin Lee Herr, 45, of 261 S. Prospect St., is charged with first-degree assault, second-degree assault, resisting arrest and use of a deadly weapon with the intent to injure.

Police were called to Herr's home Monday after a 911 call. Herr's husband said she grabbed a steak knife in an argument Sunday, but the argument deflated. The husband alleged she brandished the knife again Monday during an argument.

Police struggled briefly with Herr before taking her into custody. She was being held Tuesday on $10,000 bond.
