Albert H. Wolfe

GREENCASTLE, Pa. - Albert H. "Wolfie" Wolfe, 81, of 309 Tyrone St., died Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2003, at Waynesboro (Pa.) Hospital.

Born April 8, 1922, in Shippensburg, Pa., he was the son of the late John R. and Lottie E. Durf Wolfe.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna E. Heckman Wolfe, in 1994. They were married June 13, 1942.

He worked for Horn's Motor Express in Chambersburg, Pa., as a truck driver for 37 years, retiring in 1980.

He served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II.

He attended Pentecostal worship services in the area.

He was a member of local Teamsters Union 992.

He is survived by two daughters, Brenda J. Myers of Waynesboro and Barbara S. Riess of Chambersburg; three sisters, Mary Hershey and Janet Goursch, both of Shippensburg, Pa., and Mabel Mowers of Chambersburg; one brother, John W. Wolfe of Newville, Pa.; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one infant daughter, Rhonda Wolfe; and two brothers, Walter Wolfe and Glenn Wolfe.

Services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Miller-Bowersox Funeral Home in Greencastle. Pastor Victor Miller will officiate. Burial will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens in Chambersburg, with military services by the honor guard of Charles Nitterhouse VFW Post 1599 of Chambersburg.

The family will receive friends Friday at noon at the funeral home.

Chester S. Rotz

WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Chester S. "Barney" Rotz, 83, of 151 S. Price Ave., died Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2003, at Waynesboro Hospital.

Born Nov. 25, 1920, in Guilford Station, Pa., he was the son of the late Samuel C. and Urilla Seilhamer Rotz.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He was employed by Peiffer Oil Co. in Waynesboro, as an officer manager, from 1962 through 1985, and remained with the business after it was sold to Pen Mar Oil Co., retiring in September 2003.

He was a member of Blue Rock United Brethren in Christ Church in Waynesboro, taught Sunday School, served on the administrative board and was lay leader of the mid-week services.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Frances L. Bakner Rotz; one daughter, Angela Bergren of Fort Wayne, Ind.; one son, William G. Peck of Georgetown, Del.; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Clara S. Kaiser; and one brother, Olen Rotz.

Services will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. at Blue Rock United Brethren in Christ Church in Waynesboro. The Revs. Donald L. Bender and John W. Shubert will officiate. Burial will be in Quincy Cemetery, with military services by the honor guard of Charles Nitterhouse VFW Post 1599 of Chambersburg.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home in Waynesboro.

Glenda M. Bowers

GREENCASTLE, Pa. - Glenda M. Brunner Bowers, 59, of 6756 Guitner Road, died Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2003, at Waynesboro (Pa.) Hospital.

Born Sept. 29, 1944, in Waynesboro, she was the daughter of Dorothy L. Kinley Brunner of Blue Ridge Summit, Pa., and the late Earl G. Brunner.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles R. Flagle, in 1985. They were married May 6, 1961.

She worked as a customer service representative at Citicorp in Hagerstown.

She was a member of Ebenezer United Brethren Church in Greencastle.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by two daughters, Michelle D. Kline of Maugensville and Lori A. Horner of Thurmont, Md.; one son, Charles D. Flagle of Greencastle, nine sisters, Judy A. Barton of Blue Ridge Summit, Barbara J. Rouzer of Mont Alto, Pa., Susan K. Mowen of South Moutain, Pa., Wanda L. Brown of Cumberland, Md., Bonnie B. Royer, Sherry L. Fessler and Robin L. McKean, all of Waynesboro, Lisa D. Williams of Pittsburg, Kan. and Patti A. McLaughlin of Rouzerville, Pa.; four brothers, Earl G. Brunner of Boerne, Texas, Darrell G. Brunner of Orbisonia, Pa., John J. Brunner and Roger W. Brunner, both of Waynesboro; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; her companion, Lloyd A. Witte of Greencastle; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two daughters, Kimberly S. Flagle and Christina M. Kelley; and one brother, Harris W. Brunner.

Services will be Friday at 1:30 p.m. at Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home in Waynesboro. Pastor Ralph L. Fry will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Cemetery in Hagerstown.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.




Florence A. Dinsmore

Florence Adaline Dinsmore, 99, formerly of Hagerstown, died Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2003, at Homewood Retirement Center in Williamsport.
