Rountree takes 5K race at HCC

Rick Rountree, 25, of Herndon, Va., topped a field of 206 runners to win the Turkey Trot 5K Thursday morning at Hagerstown Community College.

Rountree, a James Buchanan High School graduate, crossed the finish line in 15 minutes, 47 seconds. Mark Werner, 31, of Rochester, Mich., was second in 16:17, while Chris Pereschuk, 23, of Hagerstown, was third in 16:27.

Dani Mason, 31, of Hagerstown, was the top overall female in 21:06. Amanda Breeden, a sophomore at Williamsport High, was second in 21:15, and Kathleen

Luzier, 35, of Boonsboro, was third in 21:36.

Greg Larsen, of Marloe, W.Va., won the men's masters division in 21:03, and Amy Lukens, 47, of Shepherdstown, W.Va., was the first female master in 23:39.
