Florence L. Gardner

Florence L. Gardner of Hagerstown, Md., died Nov. 25, 2003, at Williamsport Nursing Home.

Born July 9, 1909, in Taunton, Maine, she was the daughter of the late William F. Lee and the late Pricilla M. Lee.

She was the most beloved wife of the late J. Kenneth Gardner Sr. and devoted mother of Linda Gardner Gillitzer of Gettysburg, Pa., Joseph K. Gardner Jr. of Hagerstown and Thomas W. Gardner of Racine, Wis.; loving grandmother of Joan M. Chapman, Joseph M. Gillitzer Jr., Kevin T. Gardner, Katherine L. McCann, Kenneth G. Gardner and Jennifer P. Gardner; loving great-grandmother of Zachary Chapman, Andrew Chapman and Cameryn Swartz Gillitzer.

She is survived by sister-in-law Jeanne Lee of Mt. Laurel, N.J.; and many nieces, nephews and good friends.

She was predeceased by her sister, Agnes Rudel; and brothers, Harry, Robert, Donald and Walter Lee.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Lung Association or the Williamsport Retirement Village Activities Committee, 154 N. Artizan St., Williamsport, MD 21795.


The family will receive friends today from 6 to 9 p.m. at Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 28, 2003, at St. Ann's Catholic Church, 1525 Oak Hill Ave., Hagerstown.

Interment will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown.

Erhard Hagmann

Erhard Hagmann, 40, of 17916 Pin Oak Road, Hagerstown, Md., passed away Monday, Nov. 24, 2003, at Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore.

Born in Krems an der Donau, Austria, on Saturday, Nov. 2, 1963, he was the son of the late Johann Hagmann and Marianne (Angerer) Hagmann-Sumerer, who survives him, of Lagenlois, Austria.

He was the husband of Laura L. (Haught) Hagmann. They were married for 15 years.

He was a 1992 graduate of Georgetown University and was employed with the Coca Cola Nigerian Bottling Company.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his mother and daughter, Olivia Lee Hagmann, at home; son, Jakob Karl Hagmann at home; sister, Marianne Haimerl of Lagenlois; brother, Johann Hagmann of Lagenlois; brother, Markus Hagmann of Vienna, Austria; stepsister, Monika Sumerer of Lagenlois; stepbrother, Rupert Sumerer of Lagenlois; father- and mother-in-law, James C. and Wanna Lee Haught of Hagerstown; sister-in-law, Kathryn Morningstar of Framingham, Mass.; and brother-in-law, David Haught of Henderson, Nev.

Memorial services will be held at the Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown, on Saturday, Nov. 29, 2003, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Dave Howell and Rev. Juergen Hilke officiating.

At the family's request, there will be no visitation.

Michael W. McKenney

Michael William McKenney, 33, of 19826 Blue Heron Lane, Hagerstown, passed away Sunday, Nov. 23, 2003, at his residence in Hagerstown, Md.

Born in Joliet, Ill., on Saturday, April 11, 1970, he was the son of James Brown McKenney of Kettle Falls, Wash., and Joann (Popek) McKenney of Joliet.

He was the husband of Gale (Davis) McKenney.

He was employed by Ceridian Corp. of McLean, Va.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his parents, and sister Elizabeth McKeeney of Marina Del Rey, Calif.; brother-in-law, Don Davis of Kensington, Md.; grandmother, Clara Popek of Joliet; grandmother, Vescie McKenney of McComb, Miss.; aunt, Corlis Morgan of McComb; aunt, Adelia Hertzog of McComb; aunt, Joyce Layton of McComb; uncle, Jim Popek of Joliet; uncle, Harris McKenney of McComb; cousin, Michelle Popek of Pembroke Pines, Fla.; cousin, Scott Layton of McComb; cousin, Jacob Popek of Joliet; cousin, Eva Morgan Bass of McComb; cousin, Patricia Morgan Milton of McComb; and cousin, Dawn Devine of McComb.

Services will be held at the Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. N. Hagerstown, Sunday, Nov. 30, 2003, at 10 a.m. with Pastor James Hoffer officiating.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 9 to 10 a.m. at Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home.

If a man's riches can be measured by the joy he brought to his family and friends, Michael was wealthy beyond imagination.

Alice L. Gardenhour

CASCADE - Alice Lou Alexander Gardenhour, 73, of 25522 Warren Ave., died Sunday, Nov. 23, 2003, at her home.

Born Aug. 16, 1930, in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late John V. and Lillie Cooper Alexander.

She attended school in Cascade and Monterey.

She was employed as an upper cutter at Fairfield Shoe Co. in Fairfield, Pa.

She was a member of National AARP.
