GREENCASTLE, Pa. - The results of an autopsy on a 23-year-old Chambersburg, Pa., woman found dead Sunday in an Antrim Township motel room were inconclusive, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

Police Monday identified the woman as Darla Janine Martin, of 7965 Nyesville Road. Her body was found by motel staff at 11:20 a.m. in a room at the Econo Lodge, 735 Buchanan Trail East, police said Sunday.

"It is being handled as a suspicious death," Franklin County Coroner Jeffrey R. Conner said Monday.

The autopsy was conducted Monday at Lehigh Valley Medical Center in Allentown, Pa., police said.

A toxicology screen was performed as part of the autopsy, but Conner said it will be six to eight weeks before results are available. The cause and manner of death will not be released until the results of those tests are known, Conner said.

Conner said he pronounced the woman dead at the scene at about noon Sunday. He would not give an estimate on the time of death, or comment on whether any injuries were discovered during the autopsy.

A trooper at the state police barrack in Chambersburg said Monday afternoon that the investigating officer was not taking questions about the case.

Police on Sunday would not comment on when Martin registered at the motel, or if anyone else was registered to the room.
