Teep pop quintet Jump5 promises a high-energy performance at The Maryland Theatre in Hagerstown this weekend.

The fivesome - including siblings Brandon and Brittany Hargest, Lesley Moore, Libby Hodges and Chris Fedun - will perform at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 22. Brandon and Brittany are the grandchildren of Hagerstown residents Janice and Allen Hargest.

Janice Hargest calls Jump5's live shows "electrifying" and suitable for all ages. Watching the group perform at Hershey Park in Pennsylvania this summer, and listening to the crowd scream in delight at the show, "made the hair stand up on the back of my neck," Hargest says.

Based in Nashville, Tenn., Jump5 is known for its Christian image and high-octane shows. The group has toured with Aaron Carter, A*Teens and Baha Men, made television appearances on Nickelodeon and The Disney Channel and re-recorded the title song for Disney's "Beauty and the Beast" DVD.

Jump5 also has released four albums, including "Accelerate" (2003), "All the Joy in the World" (2002), "All the Time in the World" (2002) and "Jump5" (2001). "Start Dancin' With Jump5" - a video/DVD that presents step-by-step lessons for the group's favorite dance moves, three full-length music videos and interviews with Jump5 members - was slated for release earlier this week, according to the Sparrow Records Web site at www.sparrowrecords.com.
