Harry W. Henline


CLARKSBURG, W.Va. - Harry William "Dick" Henline, 69, of Clarksburg, and formerly of Falling Waters, W.Va., died Friday, Nov. 14, 2003, at his home.

Born Oct. 24, 1934, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Mason and Ruth Straight Henline.

He served in the U.S. Army.

He was a member of Boilermakers Union 193 of Baltimore; Loyal Order of Moose; Veterans of Foreign Wars of Hagerstown; AMVETS of Falling Waters, W.Va.; and the American Legion.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Carol Sue Bartlett Henline; four children, Margie K. McIntyre of Gypsy, W.Va., Tammy J. Henline of Hagerstown, Richard W. Henline of Fairmont, W.Va., and Penny S. McLaughlin of Ramstine, Germany; three sisters, Sharon Barron of Idamay, W.Va., Jackie Mullenax of Mannington, W.Va. and Sandy Kesling of Stonewood, W.Va.; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Janice Dixon.

There will be no visitation.

Cremation services are by Masters Funeral Home in Mannington, W.Va.




Alice D. Kaetzel


Alice Dorthea Kaetzel, 66, of 16015 Broadfording Road, Hagerstown, died Friday, Nov. 14, 2003, at Washington County Hospital.

Born July 31, 1937, in Sharpsburg, she was the daughter of Pearl Virginia Line Kaetzel of Williamsport and the late Daniel Melvin Kaetzel.

She was a 1955 graduate of Hagerstown High School.

She was a member of Broadfording Bible Brethren Church in Hagerstown.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by one brother, David M. Kaetzel Sr. of Clear Spring.

Graveside services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Broadfording Bible Brethren Church Cemetery in Hagerstown. The Rev. William Freed will officiate.

The family requests the omission of flowers.

Memorial donations may be made to Broadfording Bible Brethren Church, 13523 Broadfording Church Road, Hagerstown, MD 21740.

Arrangements are by Osborne Funeral Home in Williamsport.




Leonard R. Kershner


SMITHSBURG - Leonard Ray Kershner, 70, of 21930 Smithsburg Leitersburg Road, died Friday, Nov. 14, 2003, at Williamsburg (Va.) Community Hospital.

Born Oct. 13, 1933, in Marlowe, W.Va., he was the son of Isabelle Jeanette Knodle Kershner of Hagerstown and the late Jacob Wayne Kershner.

He was a 1951 graduate of Hagerstown High School.

He was employed by Hoffman Chrysler as the service manager for 40 years.

He served in the U.S. Army.

He was a member of St. Peters (Beard's) Lutheran Church.

He was a member of Dixon Troxell American Legion Post 211 of Funkstown.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 49 years, Norma Jean Kershner; two daughters, Rae A. Tritle of Maugansville and Tammy L. Brosious of Mount Alto, Pa.; one son, Gary W. Kershner of Smithsburg; three sisters, Janice Spitler and Connie Daley, both of Hagerstown, and Jeanette Trageser of Smithsburg; one brother, Ned Kershner of Fayetteville, Pa.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Bill Kershner.

Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home in Hagerstown. The Rev. Thomas L. Perry will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery in Hagerstown.

The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
