McCONNELLSBURG, Pa. - Almyra Reeder Keefer, 77, of 402 N. Third St., died Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2003, at Chambersburg (Pa.) Hospital.
Born March 26, 1926, in Mercersburg, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Charles and Ruth Hendershot Reeder.
She was co-owner of the Flower Basket and Gift Box in McConnellsburg.
She was a member of United Methodist Church of McConnellsburg, and a former trustee.
She was a former member of McConnellsburg American Legion Auxiliary.
She is survived by her husband, Warren C. Keefer; one brother, C. Harry Reeder of McConnellsburg; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Nellie R. Kelso; and one brother, Robert Reeder.
Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at United Methodist Church of McConnellsburg. Retired Pastor H. Lyle Duffey will officiate. Burial will be in Union Cemetery in McConnellsburg.
The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home in McConnellsburg, which will open at 2 p.m.
John R. Flick Jr.
RIDGELEY, W.Va. - John Raymond Flick Jr., 54, of Ridgeley, died Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2003, at the WMHS Memorial Hospital Campus.
Born March 28, 1949, in Columbia, S.C., he was the son of the late John Raymond Flick Sr. and Janie Inez Baughman Flick.
He retired from the U.S. Marine Corps, after 21 years of service. He served two tours in Vietnam and was awarded the Purple Heart.
He attended Cumberland Church of God.
He was a member of Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 172; Cumberland Outdoor Club; and Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 245.
He is survived by his wife, Deborah J. "Dee Dee" Flick; two daughters, Wanda K. Christopher of Ridgeley and Wendy M. Flick of Salisbury, Md.; one son, John L. Flick of Dover, Del.; three sisters, Anita Joyner of Lake Murray, S.C., Joyce Mellotte of Greencastle, Pa., and Debbie Temples of Greenwood, S.C.; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Marie Pleasant.
Services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Merritt-Adams Funeral Home in Cumberland, Md. Pastor Harold Tatum will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, with military honors by Chapter 172 Vietnam Veterans of America Honor Guard.
The family will receive friends today from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Gladys V. Gower
Gladys Virginia Gower, 97, of Hagerstown, died Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2003, at Julia Manor Health Care Center.
Born July 19, 1906, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Edward S. and Anna Mae Myers Stouffer.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Fred Gower, in 1978.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of Hagerstown Bible Church.
She is survived by one son, Donald F. Gower of Hagerstown; four grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; eight stepgreat-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; two stepgreat-great-grandchildren; and her care giver, Shirley L. Gower, with whom she lived.
She was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers.
Graveside services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Rose Hill Cemetery. The Rev. Dale R. Carver will officiate.

Edgar L. Lash Jr.
FAIRPLAY - Edgar Laverne Lash Jr., 57, of 18030 Norman Drive, Fairplay, Md., died Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2003, at Washington County Hospital in Hagerstown, Md.
He was born March 24, 1946, in Grinell, Iowa, to Betty Jane Arthur Lash of Sterling, Va. and the late Edgar Laverne Lash Sr.
He was a 1964 graduate of Massillon High School in Massillon, Ohio. He attended and played football at the University of Maryland from 1964 to 1965. He received his BA degree from Franklin University of Columbus, Ohio.
He served in the U.S. Army.
