Caps in team colors being sold for $3

FUNKSTOWN - Knit caps, crocheted in the colors of the county's high school teams, are being sold at Funkstown Town Hall for $3 each.

Money collected from the caps, knit by 92-year-old Fahrney-Keedy Home and Village resident George Caylor, will benefit the Nurse Scholarship Fund to aid future nurses and medical assistants, said Brenda Haynes, Funkstown town clerk.

Mayor apologizes for lack of quorum

FUNKSTOWN - Funkstown Mayor Robert L. Kline apologized to those attending the Town Council meeting Monday night for the absence of three of the council members and the assistant mayor.

There were not enough council members present for a quorum.

The mayor and council members Richard Nigh and Robert D. Rodgers Jr. were present for the meeting, but council members Kim Ramer, John Phillips III, Sharon Chirgott and Assistant Mayor Paul N. Crampton Jr. were absent.
