Doris J. Fravel


MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Doris Jane Fravel, of Martinsburg, died Sunday, Nov. 9, 2003, at Care Haven of Berkeley.

Born in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Clifford Smith and Edna Catherine Sellers Smith Walker.

She is survived by three daughters, Janice A. Housden of Bellville, Il., Edna Mclaughlin of Martinsburg, and Elizabeth A. Perry of Pasadena, Md.; two brothers, Robert A. Smith and Kenneth Smith, both of Martinsburg; four grandchildren; one great-grandson; nieces; nephews; and two special cousins.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Richard Smith, Donald Smith and Clifford L. Smith.

Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg. Burial will be in Rosedale Cemetery.

The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.




Paul R. Weaver Jr.


Paul Raymond Weaver Jr., 69, of 11403 Stonecroft Court, Hagerstown, died Monday, Nov. 10, 2003, at Washington County Hospital.

Born Nov. 20, 1933, in Funkstown, he was the son of the late Paul R. Sr. and Mary Shank Weaver.

He was employed by Hoffman Meats.

He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Funkstown.

He is survived by four daughters and two sons; one sister, Vivian Huff of Orlando, Fla.; and two brothers, Melvin L. Weaver of Smithsburg and Ned F. Weaver of Exeter, N.H.

He was preceded in death by four sisters, Pearl Ridenour, Mae Marshall, Dorothy Hiett and Ora Belle McLucas; and three brothers, Raymond Weaver, Donald Weaver and Clyde Weaver.

Services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, East Wilson Boulevard, Hagerstown. The Rev. Darrell L. Layman will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.




Betty J. Grams


BRUNSWICK, Md. - Betty June Grams, 74, of Brunswick, died Saturday, Nov. 8, 2003, at Washington County Hospital.

Born Aug. 26, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Henry Holder and Kate Nelson Holder.

She was a member of New York Hill Methodist Church and the Joy Class.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Robert L. Grams; one son, Robert L. Grams Jr. of Knoxville, Md.; two sisters, Louise Harrison and Virginia McPherson; one brother, James Holder; two grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Woodrow Holder.

Services will be Thursday at New York Hill Methodist Church, Brunswick. The Rev. Clark D. Carr will officiate. Burial will be in Brownsville Cemetery, followed by a reception at the church.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. at Stauffer Funeral Home, Brunswick, which will open at 10 a.m.

Catherine V. Keets


Catherine Virginia Lee Keets, 77, of Hagerstown, died Friday, Nov. 7, 2003, at Washington County Hospital.

Born Nov. 6, 1926, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Marie Virginia Taylor Lee.

Her husband, Clifton Keets, died in 1979.

She was a graduate of North Street High School, Hagerstown.

She was a member of Ebenezer AME Church, Hagerstown.

She is survived by one niece, Celestine Lee; and two nephews, Keenan Lee and Devin Lee, whom she raised, all of Hagerstown; two sisters, Nina Harris and Connie Armstrong, both of Hagerstown; one brother, Arthur Lee of Baltimore; and nieces and nephews.

Services will be Thursday at noon at Ebenezer AME Church, Hagerstown. The Rev. Leroy Jackson will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Hagerstown.

Visitation will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at the church.

Arrangements are by Gerald N. Minnich Funeral Home, North Potomac Street, Hagerstown.




Nola T. Lloyd


CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. - Nola T. Lloyd, 76, of Charles Town, died Sunday, Nov. 9, 2003, at her home.

Born Jan. 29, 1927, in Ranson, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Frank and Pearl Corder Lally.

She attended Charles Town Baptist Church and was a member of the Church Circle.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, William W. "Bill" Lloyd Sr.; two daughters, Angie Russell of Ranson and Diane Stoneberger of Charles Town; one son, Walter Lloyd of Charles Town; one sister, Mary Ulrich of Maryland; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by five brothers, Frank Lally, John Lally, Lee Lally, Joe Lally and George Lally.

Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Charles Town Baptist Church. The Rev. Wyman Hall will officiate. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery, Berryville, Va.

Visitation will be today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home, Charles Town.

GREENCASTLE, Pa. - Barbara L. Witmer, 52, of 5379 Bino Road, died Monday, Nov. 10, 2003, at her home.
