Edward Jones

J. Greg Garner of the financial-services firm Edward Jones will host the grand opening of his new office at 1309 Pennsylvania Ave. from 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Nov. 14.

Jeff Kelly of Federated will greet visitors and discuss trends in today's securities industry. Other activities will include a ribbon cutting and lunch.

St. Lawrence Cement

St. Lawrence Cement is the first Portland cement plant in the United States to meet the standards required to earn ISO 14001 certification, according to a recent announcement by plant manager Gary Batey.

ISO 14001 certification is the international standard for quality in environmental management, and its guidelines are designed to regulate industrial practices with regard to environmental protection.


JLG Industries

McCONNELLSBURG, Pa. - JLG Industries Inc. will release its fiscal 2004 first-quarter results after the market closes on Nov. 20.

The Manitowoc Co.

MANITOWOC, Wis. - The Board of Directors of The Manitowoc Co. recently declared a cash dividend of 28 cents per share of common stock to shareholders of record as of the close of business on Dec. 1. The dividend will be payable on Dec. 10.

The company also reported net sales of $422.3 million for the third quarter of 2003, an increase of 7 percent from $394.9 million during the same period last year. The company reported net earnings of $7.2 million, or 27 cents per diluted share, compared with net earnings of $14.7 million, or 57 cents per diluted share, in the third quarter of 2003.

Excluding special charges totaling $2.2 million ($1.6 million net of tax), third-quarter earnings were 33 cents per diluted share.

The Manitowoc Co. is the parent company of Grove Worldwide in Shady Grove, Pa.

WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Franklin Real Estate Services and Abstracting Co. Inc. announces the opening of its office at 343A S. Potomac St. in Waynesboro.
