Elaine M. Eyler


Elaine Marie Eyler, 77, of Hagerstown, passed away on Friday, Nov. 7, 2003, in Washington County Hospital.

She was born on March 25, 1926 in Waynesboro, Pa., the daughter of the late Glenn E. and Margaret M. (Bowman) Eyler.

She was a member of the 1945 graduating class of Hagerstown High School. She was employed as a secretary at Fairchild Aircraft, from where she was retired.

She was a member of First Christian Church in Hagerstown.

She is survived by a niece, Donnagean Talbert of Hagerstown; three nephews, Westley Eyler of Pennsylvania, Spencer Eyler of Pennsylvania and Stephen Eyler of California; several cousins; and two great-nieces.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Donald E. Eyler.

Funeral services will be held Monday, Nov. 10, 2003 at 11 a.m. in Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown. The Rev. Fred M. Harris will officiate. Burial will be private.

The family will receive friends Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Christian Church Memorial Fund, 1354 Potomac Ave., Hagerstown, MD 21742.




A. Grayson Ehrhart


CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - A. Grayson Ehrhart, 77, of 2669 Warm Spring Road, died Friday, Nov. 7, 2003, at Manorcare Health Services in Chambersburg.

Born Feb. 26, 1926, in St. Thomas, Pa., he was the son of the late George L. and Vallie Maude Snurr Ehrhart.

He retired from Letterkenny Army Depot in 1978 after 30 years.

He was a member of the former Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Upper Strasburg, Pa.

He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army in the European Theater.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Mabel Davis Ehrhart; a daughter, Brenda Heckman of Chambersburg; five sisters, Mary H. Burkholder of Waynesboro, Pa., Evelyn Wingert and Bernadina Etter, both of Chambersburg, Mercina Wright of Upper Strasburg and Ella Graham of Mercersburg, Pa.; two brothers, Dana Ehrhart of Upper Strasburg and Robert Ehrhart of Orrstown, Pa.; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, three sons and three brothers.

Services will be Monday at 10 a.m. at Robert G. Sellers Funeral Home in Chambersburg. Pastors Mark Werner and Mike Rockwell will officiate. Burial will be in St. Thomas Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the funeral home Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m.




Grace E. Rockwell


CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Grace Eve Rockwell, 104, a resident of Menno-Haven, formerly of 217 Linden Ave., Mercersburg, Pa., died Thursday, Nov. 6, 2003, at the nursing home.

Born July 6, 1899, in Franklin County, Pa., she was the daughter of the late James B. and Annie E. Barnhart Zimmerman.

Her husband, Orace D. Rockwell, died in December, 1970.

She attended Waynesboro Business College.

She last worked as an inspector at Landis Tool Co. in Waynesboro, Pa.

She was the oldest member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Mercersburg.

She was the last of her immediate family.

She is survived by her caregiver, Robert E. Rockwell of Mercersburg, four nieces and two nephews.

She was preceded in death by four sisters and four brothers.

Services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home in Greencastle, Pa. The Rev. Michael R. Brendle and the Rev. W. David Kent will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Mercersburg.

The family will receive friends Monday at the funeral home one hour prior to services.




Lillian F. Butler


MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Lillian F. Butler, 82, of Martinsburg, died Thursday, Nov. 6, 2003, at City Hospital.

Born Oct. 9, 1921, in Martinsburg, she was the daughter of the late Sgt. Harry R. and Daisy Williams.

Her husband of 64 years, Irvin R. Butler, preceded her in death.

She attended Bethel Assembly of God.

She was a member of TOPS 320 for more than 15 years.

She is survived by a son, James I. Butler of Martinsburg; a granddaughter, Michelle M. Butler; a grandson, Matthew I. Butler; two great-grandsons; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret M. Metz, and a brother, Samuel N. Williams.

Graveside services will be held Sunday at 1:30 p.m. in Rosedale Cemetery. The Rev. Paul C. Stanley will officiate.

The family will receive friends today from 6 to 8 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home in Martinsburg.

Katherine D. Hoskins


MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Katherine D. Hoskins, 46, of Martinsburg, died Thursday, Nov. 6, 2003, at City Hospital in Martinsburg.

Born Aug. 20, 1957, in Baltimore, she was the daughter of Robert E. and Betty Scott Wilson of Martinsburg.

She is survived by her husband, Daniel D. Hoskins; two daughters, Crystall J. Oliver of Casselberry, Fla., and Tiffani M. Hoskins of Martinsburg; a son, Joseph M. Oliver of Casselberry; a sister, Sharon Alley of Martinsburg; a brother, Robert E. Wilson Jr., of Martinsburg; two grandchildren; three nieces; and two nephews.

Services and burial will be private.
