City football showdown will be second annual classic

November 04, 2003

The City of Hagerstown on Monday said this year's football game between the North Hagerstown and South Hagerstown high schools will be the second annual Hagerstown Gridiron Championship Classic.

Last year, the city designated the annual game the Gridiron Championship Classic and donated a plaque to each school, on which will be engraved the name of each team's most valuable player each year. School coaches will select the most valuable players.

South Hagerstown won last year's game 39-0.

The game is to be played Friday night.
