Children's Carousel

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Martinsburg-Berkeley County Parks and Recreation is accepting registration for the fall session of Children's Carousel at War Memorial Park.

Children's Carousel is a literature-based recreational program for children ages 3 to 5. Five-year-olds may not be attending kindergarten.

The Carousel is a one- or two-day program meeting from 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. The fall session continues through Thursday, Dec. 11.

Programming includes stories, music, songs, active games, and arts and crafts projects related to the theme of the day.

'Wish List' for needy families

Healthy Families Washington County, sponsored by the Washington County Health Department, is seeking churches, organizations, employers, schools and/or individuals who are interested in supporting our families during the upcoming holiday season by donating items from a "Wish List." The families that the organization serves are first-time parents who are often in need of supplies and resources for their children and themselves. You may "adopt" a family anytime before Monday, Nov. 24.

Adoption education

FREDERICK, Md. - Adoption 101, The Journeys and Joys of Adoption, a four-week adoption education series will meet Mondays to explore the process of adoption.

The class will meet from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Monday evenings, Nov. 3 through 24, at Evangelical Lutheran Church, Hahn Building, 35 E. Church St.

The cost is $100 per couple or $75 for single parents. The class can be used to fulfill education credit requirements for adoptive parents that are required by the Hague Convention Regulations for International Adoption.

The classes are open to all families interested in adoption. They are offered by Frank Adoption Center, a nonprofit organization, and will be taught by members of the Frank Adoption Center staff.

Waiting Parents meeting

FREDERICK, Md. - A Waiting Parents Meeting will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 5, at Evangelical Lutheran Church, Rupp House, Church Street. The meeting is free.

The event is offered by Frank Adoption Center.
