Edna I. McKenrick

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Edna I. McKenrick, 91, of ManorCare Health Services, and formerly of 5500 Lincoln Way East, Fayetteville, Pa., died Sunday, Oct. 26, 2003, at ManorCare.

Born Feb. 21, 1912, in Fayetteville, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin F. and Florence A. Bohn Fickes.

Her husband, Raphael F. McKenrick, died Aug. 21, 1967.

She retired as a seamstress for Stanley Co. in Chambersburg.

She was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Chambersburg, and Columbian Ladies.

She was a member of Falling Spring Chapter 2840 AARP, Chambersburg, and attended Franklin County Senior Center.

She is survived by two daughters, Irene F. Perry and Catherine F. Rosenberry, both of Chambersburg; two sons, Lloyd F. McKenrick of Scotland, Pa., and James A. McKenrick of Fayetteville; one sister, Rhoda Lentz of Quincy, Pa.; 21 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two daughters, Ethel C. Mummert and Doris M. Hoover; and one brother, Jesse Fickes.


A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10 a.m. at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Chambersburg. The Rev. James R. O'Brien will be celebrant. Burial will be held in St. Ignatius Cemetery, Orrtanna, Pa.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Chambersburg. A Christian wake service will be held Wednesday at 8 p.m.

Joyce A. Good

HEDGESVILLE, W.Va. - Joyce A. Good, 61, of Hedgesville, died Saturday, Oct. 25, 2003, at her home.

Born June 23, 1942, in Louisa, Ky., she was the daughter of the late James Garland and Ruth Workman.

She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Richard Good; one daughter, Ruth A. Good of Hedgesville; one son, Richard Good Jr. of Hedgesville; one sister, Jewell Sommerfeld of Lillian Ala.; and three grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at Hedgesville Presbyterian Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of the Panhandle, 122 Waverly Court, Martinsburg, WV 25401.

Arrangements are by Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg.

Lottie F. McCormick

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Lottie F. McCormick, 92, of Martinsburg, died Monday, Oct. 27, 2003, at City Hospital.

Born Nov. 7, 1910, in Frederick County, Va., she was the daughter of the late Hunter and Bessie Lynn Strobridge.

She was a member of Welltown United Methodist Church in Virginia.

She was past president of the Berkeley County Women's Republican Club from 1958 to 1976 and served as election commissioner.

She was a member of Golden Rule Chapter 69, OES, Rebekah Lodge 65 and a member of the Salvation Army and City Hospital auxiliaries.

In 1976, former Gov. Arch Moore recognized her as a Distinguished West Virginian.

She is survived by her husband of 72 years, J. Russell McCormick; one son, Dr. R. Dale McCormick of York, Pa.; two stepgrandchildren; two stepgreat-grandchildren; two nieces; and one nephew.

Services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg. The Rev. John E. Wright will officiate. Burial will be in Rosedale Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Lewis C. Kirkpatrick

HARPERS FERRY, W.Va. - Lewis C. Kirkpatrick, 86, of Shannondale, W.Va., died Thursday, Oct. 23, 2003, at Sunrise Assisted Living of Frederick in Frederick, Md.

Born Oct. 13, 1917, in Ashburn, Va., he was the son of the late Lewis and Blanche Columbus Kirkpatrick.

His wife, Nancie A. Kirkpatrick, died April 28, 2000.

He was employed by AT&T in Washington, D.C.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and received the World War II Victory Medal.

He was a Protestant.

He was a member of Shannondale Club Ltd.

He is survived by one daughter, Christie A. William of Encino, Calif.; two sons, Richard A. Kirkpatrick of Poolesville, Md., and Kenneth A. Kirkpatrick of Daytona Beach, Fla.; one sister, Norma Scordellis of Fredericksburg, Va.; three brothers, Charles Kirkpatrick of Westminster, Md., Gerald Kirkpatrick of Pennsylvania and William Kirkpatrick of Texas; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Neeta A. Sheetz.

Services will be Monday, Nov. 3, at 11 a.m. at Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home, Charles Town, W.Va. The Rev. Henry Styron will officiate. Burial will be in Edge Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be Monday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Hazel L. Meek

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Hazel L. Meek, 74, of 2312 Springfield Drive, died Sunday, Oct. 26, 2003, at Falling Spring Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Chambersburg.

Born June 8, 1929, in Chambersburg, she was the daughter of the late Herbert W. and Edna Keller Frank.

She was a 1947 graduate of Chambersburg (Pa.) High School and attended accounting school.

She was a financial management analyst at Letterkenny Army Depot in Chambersburg, retiring in 1984 after 34 years.

She was a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church in Fayetteville, Pa.
