The Plummers

Mr. and Mrs. A.J. (Jim) Plummer celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Sunday, Sept. 7, 2003, at a reception for family and friends at the Elks Club in Hagerstown. The event was hosted by their children and spouses, Steve and Brenda Plummer, Laurie and Harry Jones and Jay and Julie Plummer. They have six grandchildren.

The Plummers were married Sept. 5, 1953, at St. Paul's Methodist Church (now John Wesley Methodist Church) by the Rev. J. Turnbull Spicknall, now deceased.

Mrs. Plummer is the daughter of the late Charles and Lucile Holtzman. She is a homemaker.

Mr. Plummer is the son of the late E.D. and Jessie Plummer. He retired as co-owner of the former E.D. Plummer Sons Inc.

The Campbells

Stanley and Thelma Campbell of Boonsboro were honored at a dinner at the Dan-Dee Restaurant in Frederick, Md., in celebration of their 50th wedding anniversary. The event was hosted by their children, Denise Hall of Hagerstown, Sandy Blickenstaff of Boonsboro and Randy Campbell of Inwood, W.Va., and spouses. Family and friends attended the celebration.


The Campbells were married Sept. 26, 1953, by the Rev. Edward Heinze, now deceased, in his parsonage.

Mrs. Campbell is the former Thelma Moser, daughter of Amelia Moser and the late Floyd T. Moser.

Mr. Campbell is the son of the late Stansie and Ethel Campbell. He retired from F&C Distributing Co., which he co-owned for 34 years.

They have three granddaughters, one grandson and one great-grandson.
