WALKERSVILLE, Md. - Dave Berry completed six of 11 passes for 172 yards and four touchdowns, and No. 3 Walkersville routed Francis Scott Key 45-8 in the MVAL Piedmont Conference on Thursday night.

Antoine Crawford carried 11 times for 189 yards, including a 53-yard touchdown, and Mark Ferro caught three passes for 108 yards, including TD grabs of 31 and 37 yards, for the Lions (6-1).

Brandon Geppert had two catches for 64 yards, including a 39-yard touchdown, and Dustin Kolb added a 10-yard TD reception for Walkersville, which amassed 471 yards of offense against the Eagles (5-2).

Shaun Coon had two interceptions, Wes Rhodes had one and Jason Holelscher made seven tackles for the Lions' defense.

Urbana 35, Frederick 12

IJAMSVILLE, Md. - Urbana upped its series record against Frederick to 7-0 as the Hawks strolled past the Cadets.


Brian Lanning totaled 134 yards of offense, including a 54-yard touchdown reception from Cory Rhodes, for Frederick (3-4).

Rhodes was injured at the end of the first quarter and was forced to leave the game with a sprained ankle, which is not believed to be serious. Lanning took over for Rhodes and completed just 7 of 29 passes for 36 yards.

Tommy Prazenica scored on a 4-yard rush for Frederick's other score.

WILLIAMSPORT - Stacy Grabill had 18 service points and 11 assists to lead Williamsport in a sweep of South Hagerstown in an MVAL Antietam machup, 25-11, 25-12, 25-22. Lindsey Plotner had seven kills seven blocks and Katie Saufley had 12 digs for the Wildcats (10-1, 2-0).

Chelsea Weaver had nine service points and six digs, while Keli Dofflemyer had 16 assists for the Rebels (8-4, 2-3).

No. 2 McConnellsburg 3 No. 7 Southern Fulton 1

McCONNELLSBURG, Pa. - McConnellsburg dropped its first game, but won the final three to defeat Southern Fulton, 20-25, 25-17, 26-24, 25-21.

Kara Carmack had 20 kills, Jade Anthony had 12 and Gretchen Swope had 15 service points for the Spartans (18-1).

Loni Layton had 16 kills and Kaylie Mellott had 14 for Southern Fulton (14-3). Layton had four blocks and Cajan Woodal had 10 service points.

ELLIOTTSBURG, Pa. - Ashley Helfrick had 28 digs and 12 kills as James Buchanan swept West Perry, 25-8, 25-3, 25-14.

Tiffany Hunsberger had 17 service points and six aces and Lindsey Crider had 16 assists for the Rockets (17-1).

MIDDLETOWN, Md. - Jill Martin had 12 kills, while Allison Jarkey and Erin Burtner each added 11 to lift Middletown past Thomas Johnson, 25-21, 15-25, 27-25, 21-25, 15-9. Amanda Lewis had nine kills and Kristin Young had 28 assists for the Knights (9-2).

Erin Maldo had 31 kills, 10 digs and nine service points to lead the Patriots (7-4). Erin Dickman had 10 service points and 12 digs, Christina Hawkins had 12 service points and eight digs and Nicole Pagano had 28 assists in the loss.

HEDGESVILLE, W.Va. - Lauren Pitzer had nine kills and 19 digs to lead Hedgesville past Jefferson, 25-20, 25-22, 25-19. Katie Cummings had 13 digs and Lauren Ashton had 36 assists and four aces for the Eagles (17-7-5).

Smithsburg 3, Brunswick 0

SMITHSBURG - The Leopards swept the Railroaders 25-2, 25-9, 25-16 in MVAL Antietam action.

Laura Lindsay had 19 service points, including seven aces, to lead Smithsburg (7-4, 3-1), while Kayla Martin had 16 service points, including eight aces, and Heather Bywaters had six kills.

JV: Smithsburg, 2-0.

Bermudian Springs 3 Greencastle 0

GREENCASTLE, Pa. - Jessica Ritchey had six kills, six blocks and seven points and Sarah Miller had six kills and 21 digs for Greencastle, as the Blue Devils fell 25-20, 25-16, 25-19 to Bermudian Springs.

FREDERICK, Md. - Thomas Johnson outshot the Cadets 14-6, but neither team managed to get on the board and played to a scoreless tie.

Gladimir Elysee had three saves for the Patriots (8-1-4), while Mo Aung had seven saves for Frederick (5-4-2).

No. 2 Williamsport 5 Clear Spring 1

WILLIAMSPORT - Williamsport's Tyler Cannon broke a 1-1 halftime tie by scoring two goals in a 30-second span to give the Wildcats the lead for good and the victory over Clear Spring in the MVAL Antietam.

Josh Bowers and Chris Ciccarelli had a goal and an assist each and Ben Jordan also scored. Jeremy Draper had eight saves in the win. The Wildcats (10-2, 5-0) outshot Clear Spring, 25-6.

David Kendle scored on an assist from Zeb Jacobs and Cody Beard had 17 saves for the Warriors (6-6, 2-4).

James Buchanan 2 Biglerville 0

MERCERSBURG, Pa. - Tyler Appleby scored both James Buchanan goals on penalty kicks in the second half and the Rockets surged past Biglerville. Adam Heebner had seven saves in the shutout for JB (9-10).
