YORK SPRINGS, Pa. - Ashley Helfrick had 23 kills and Lindsay Crider had 41 assists to lead No. 4 James Buchanan to a 23-25, 25-23, 25-13, 28-26 win over Bermudian Springs on Monday.

Leslie Serrano had seven blocks, Karina Hunsberger had 15 service points and four aces and Jess Stough added 46 digs for the Rockets (17-1).

Liberty 3, No. 6 Thomas Johnson 2

FREDERICK, Md. - Liberty topped Thomas Johnson in five games, 18-25, 25-11, 15-25, 25-23, 15-12.

Erin Maldo had 24 kills, six blocks and six digs to lead Thomas Johnson (7-3), while Lauren Morrow had 15 service points, four aces and four kills and Bethany Springer added six service points, three kills and seven digs.


JV: Liberty, 2-1.

Fairfield 3, Greencastle 1

GREENCASTLE, Pa. - Jessica Ritchey's big night - 17 service points, 12 aces, 23 kills and 32 digs - wasn't quite enough for the Blue Devils, who fell 25-16, 25-21, 12-25, 26-24.

Walkersville 3, Century 1

WALKERSVILLE, Md. - Ryan Beard recorded his second hat trick in two games, leading Walkersville past Century.

Michael Tauszky, Michael Socault and Ben Gould each had an assist, while Patrick Skovira had five saves for the Lions (5-4-1, 3-0 MVAL Piedmont).

Grace 3, Tuscarora 1

Jordan Hanft had a hat trick to lead Grace Academy over Tuscarora.

Andy Eyler, David Hardcastle and Darren Sweeney all had assists while Jack Sharkey and Jacob Reese combined for nine saves for the Knights (13-3).

Boonsboro 4, Clear Spring 1

CLEAR SPRING - Jacob Munson scored twice for Boonsboro as the Warriors defeated Clear Spring in a game played Saturday.

Tyler McKenrick had a goal and an assist, Corey Robinson added a goal and Scott Hart and Jason Mantz each had an assist for Boonsboro (7-4).

Adam Long scored on a Brad Turner assist for the Blazers (6-5), who were outshot, 19-10.


Fairfield 5, Greencastle 2

GREENCASTLE, Pa. - Sarah Signore and Kris Root each scored while Lindsey Oliver added an assist as the Blue Devils (2-13) fell to Fairfield.

Libby Weiss scored twice and had an assist to lead the Knights.

Rams' Wilkinson shares honor

Shepherd College's Erin Wilkinson has been named one of the WVIAC's Women's Soccer Players of the Week for Oct. 6-12.

Wilkinson, a junior forward, shares the honor with Davis & Elkins' Alison Jones. She had seven goals and an assist as the Rams defeated Southern Virginia and Columbia Union.

Wrestling club holding registration

The Williamsport Wrestling Club will be holding registration for anyone in grades K-8 interested in participating in their junior wrestling program.
