Pa. car wash reports $500 in quarters stolen


CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Police are trying to find whoever stole approximately $500 in quarters from a car wash last week.

According to a Pennsylvania State Police press release, the theft happened sometime between 9 p.m. Wednesday and 6:30 p.m. Thursday.

The quarters were taken from two coin machines at the Wet Wave Car Wash at 1424 Doran Drive in Chambersburg.

Swimming instructor faces sex assault charge


FREDERICK, Md. - A Frederick County YMCA swimming instructor was charged with two counts of sexual assault Friday following a three-day investigation, the Frederick Police Department said.

Steven C. Kroon, 18, of Pete Wiles Road, Middletown, Md., was charged with two counts of third degree sex offenses and one count of child abuse, police said.

The police investigation determined that two students in programs at the YMCA told their parents they had been "inappropriately touched by an instructor during group swimming lessons on separate dates," police said.




Two Frederick residents arrested on drug charges


FREDERICK, Md. - Two Frederick residents were arrested Thursday on drug charges, the Frederick Police Department said.

Robert Shelby Hughes, 44, of 37 Winchester St., was charged with possession of crack cocaine, marijuana and paraphernalia, police said. Melissa Delores Hughes, 29, of the 7000 block of Ames Court, was charged with possession of crack cocaine.

Police were conducting an investigation into suspected drug activity at 37 Winchester St. when Hughes arrived and was stopped in his car outside the residence, police said. A K-9 search of the car gave a positive indication for the presence of drugs in the vehicle so a search of the car was conducted, police said.




Four face drug charges in Chambersburg search


CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Four men were charged with drug-related offenses after Chambersburg police searched a South Third Street home Wednesday night.

Police said a search warrant was obtained for 240 S. Third St. after an investigation of suspected drug activity.

Dennis E. Young, 39, of 240 S. Third St., was charged with two counts of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and one count each of possession with intent to deliver within a school or recreation area and possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Jimmy L. Young, 43, of the same address, was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Lance Wileman, 32, also of the same address, was charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Kenneth E. Young, 41, of 3 W. Washington St., was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

Police allege that marijuana and other controlled substances were found in the house, along with cash, scales, drug paraphernalia and packaging materials.
