The driver was apparently unhurt. No ambulances were sent to the scene, an official said.
New York man faces drug charges
FREDERICK, Md. - A New York man was arrested by police Friday after a surveillance operation was held in response to complaints from residents of the Lincoln public housing community about drug activity.
Gary Joel Lorquet, 34, of the 300 block of 4th Street, Brooklyn, N.Y., was charged with possession with intent to distribute cocaine and marijuana, possession of cocaine and marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and traffic offenses, police said.
During the undercover operation, a man was followed when he left in a vehicle. After observing a traffic violation, police stopped the vehicle and a K-9 scan resulted in a positive alert for drugs.
A search of the car and the sole occupant yielded $300 worth of suspected cocaine, $150 of suspected marijuana and $840 in cash.
Lorquet was being held Saturday at the Frederick Adult Detention Center on $175,000 bond, jail officials said.
Frederick man faces drug charges
FREDERICK, Md. - A Frederick man was charged Friday with two drug offenses, police here said.
Christian Albert Cartwright, 27, of 103 E. Patrick St., was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, cocaine, and possession of controlled dangerous substance paraphernalia.
Police said they found the drug and paraphernalia in Cartwright's car after stopping him at the intersection of West Church and North Court streets for an equipment violation. Police said Cartwright was driving on a suspended license and there was an outstanding bench warrant for his arrest.
Police seek info on club robberies
WAYNESBORO, Pa. - The subjects of this week's Franklin County Crime Solvers case are the armed robberies of two clubs here on April 24, Waynesboro Police said.
The two robberies, which occurred 30 minutes apart, were at the Waynesboro American Legion and the Eagles Club. In each instance, the robber entered the buildings through locked doors, took an undisclosed amount of money and fled.
Police are looking for a white man, 5 feet 11 to 6 feet tall and weighing 200 pounds. He wore a ski mask during the robberies, police said.
