Second man held in armed robbery case

A second man has been arrested in connection with an August armed robbery at a Prospect Street business.

Eugene Russell Lattisaw, 20, was arrested in Prince George's County, Md., Wednesday evening and brought to Washington County, where he was wanted on warrants, Hagerstown City Police said.

He was being held Thursday on $75,000 at the Washington County Detention Center after District Judge Ralph H. France raised his bond at the request of the State's Attorney's Office.

Lattisaw, whose last known address was an apartment at 1925 Belle Haven Drive, Hyattsville, Md., was charged with one count of armed robbery, one count of general robbery, three counts of first-degree assault, three counts of second-degree assault, three counts of reckless endangerment, one count of wearing or carrying a handgun, one count of using a handgun in a crime of violence, and one count of theft.

Hagerstown Police Lt. Rick Johnson said Lattisaw was arrested by Prince George's County Police after they responded to a call about someone at an apartment complex with a gun.

Prince George's County police ran name checks on a group at the complex, and Lattisaw's name came up as being wanted, Johnson said.

Lattisaw is the second man to be arrested in connection with an Aug. 21 armed robbery at the Sellmore Industries building supply store 651 N. Prospect St.

Anthony Leon Williams, 33, of 13725 Pennsylvania Ave., Trailer 4F, was taken into custody last week in connection with the robbery. He was charged with one count of conspiracy to commit armed robbery.

Johnson asked anyone who may know something about the crime to call police detectives at 301-790-3700, ext. 234.

"It actually appears there's more individuals involved," Johnson said.
