Two charged with breaking, entering


MARTINSBURG, W.Va - The Martinsburg Police Department last Sunday arrested two people who allegedly attempted to break into the change machine at the Sun Set Car Wash at the intersection of U.S. 11 North and Edwin Miller Road in Martinsburg, police said.

Police found a hatchet and hammer which were believed to have been used for trying to force open the automated change machine.

A 16-year-old male and Timothy Lynn Robinson, 21, were charged with attempted breaking and entering, police said.

About $850 damage was done to the change machine but no currency was taken.




W.Va. man convicted on drug charges


MARTINSBURG, W.Va - A Hedgesville, W.Va., man was convicted of 12 counts of an indictment on Aug. 28 after a two-day trial in U.S. District Court in Martinsburg, U.S. Attorney Thomas E. Johnston said in a news release Friday.

Victor Kenton Catlett was convicted of conspiracy to distribute in excess of 500 grams of crack cocaine, in excess of 100 kilograms of marijuana, Oxycontin and Oxycodone from 1987 to 2003 within the Northern District of West Virginia, Johnston said.

He was also convicted of eight counts of distribution of cocaine and three counts of distribution of marijuana in Berkeley County, the news release said.
