Man charged with attempted rape

BRUNSWICK, Md. - The Brunswick Police Department charged a Brunswick man in the assault and attempted rape of a woman Wednesday evening.

Police charged Armando G. Rosales, 44, of 620 Sixth Ave., with attempted first-degree rape, first-degree assault and reckless endangerment, according to police documents. Police allege Rosales punched, kicked and dragged a woman at his residence just before 9 p.m. Wednesday. Officers found the woman with noticeable bruises on her head, face and torso, police said.

Police found Rosales at the Sheetz store at Md. 17 and Md. 180.

He was being held without bond at the Frederick County Adult Detention Facility.

The woman was admitted to Frederick Memorial Hospital for treatment of head injuries, Price said.

Pa. man charged with drunken driving

CEARFOSS - A Greencastle, Pa., man was charged with drunken driving Thursday morning after his sport-utility vehicle hit a curb and a road sign at a traffic circle, Maryland State Police said.


Daryl Wayne Eichelberger, 36, of Crestview Drive, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and negligent driving, police said.

Police said Eichelberger was driving a Nissan Pathfinder north on Md. 63 at about 2:30 a.m. and lost control at the roundabout where the road meets Cearfoss Pike.

When troopers arrived, the Pathfinder was sitting at a nearby house on Cearfoss Pike. A neighbor had started to drive the man home, but came back after his wife called him on a cell phone and said troopers wanted to speak to the driver, police said.

Deputies respond to vehicle damage calls

The Washington County Sheriff's Department responded to the following calls Wednesday and Thursday:

  • Someone reported Wednesday night that two tires on a vehicle parked on Stanford Road, east of Hagers-town, were sliced. Damage was estimated at $112.

  • It was reported Thursday morning that two vehicles parked on the 17600 block of Homewood Road in Halfway - a 1999 Honda and a 1993 Buick - were broken into. A wallet and a digital camera were taken, police said.

Interstate 81 blocked after truck crash

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - The northbound lanes of Interstate 81 were blocked for about an hour early Thursday when a tractor-trailer overturned, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

The 2002 Freightliner driven by Ronnie Moore, 46, of Chattsworth, Ga., was traveling north at 3:30 a.m. when Moore lost control and ran onto the berm about a half-mile south of exit 16. The truck overturned along an embankment, police said.

Moore, who was wearing a seat belt, was treated for minor injuries at Chambersburg Hospital, police said.

Frederick man faces assault charge

FREDERICK, Md. - The Frederick Police Department charged a Frederick man in connection with a Thursday assault at his home.

Police charged Edward Lamar Sanbower Jr., 25, of 220 S. Market St., with second-degree assault on a woman.

The woman suffered minor injuries, and was later taken to Frederick Memorial Hospital, according to police. Police said she suffered bruising to the head, neck, knee and arm.

A Frederick County Adult Detention Center spokesman was unable to provide information on Sanbower's bail amount and whether he was being held at the facility late Thursday evening.

Man charged with assault at day care

FREDERICK, Md. - The Frederick Police Department charged a Frederick man in connection with a domestic assault at the Kinder Care Center on Taney Avenue.

Police charged Francis W. Ferguson, 47, of 581 Planters Court, with second-degree assault on his estranged wife at the business, according to police documents.

Police said they found Ferguson nearby and took him into custody.

Ferguson was released Thursday from the Frederick County Adult Detention Center after posting $2,500 bond, according to a detention center spokesman.
