Commission to review impact fees

August 29, 2003

CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. - the Jefferson County Commission on Sept. 8 will review a proposed impact fee system for Jefferson County.

A representative from the law firm of Freilich, Leitner and Carlisle of Kansas City will answer questions about the proposal before the commissioners on Sept. 8.

The law firm wrote the impact fee plan.

The commissioners have received a draft impact fee proposal from the law firm and the commissioners decided Thursday to release copies of the proposal to the Jefferson County Board of Education and city officials in the county so they can review it.

The proposed impact fees would be charged to developers for each new house built in the county and used to help construct new schools in the county.
