Stadium clears hurdle


The Washington County Board of Education on Tuesday approved by a 6-0 vote educational specifications set for the proposed North Hagerstown High School athletic stadium complex.

The approval is a required step in the Public School Construction Program for all projects in excess of $350,000.

The North High stadium committee plans to seek funds from the Public School Construction Program for its proposed $2.1 million project.




Jeter Paving wins bid


The Washington County Board of Education on Tuesday awarded a bid to Jeter Paving Co. of Hagerstown for sidewalk and parking lot improvements at South Hagerstown High School.

Jeter's bid for the work was $34,250. Construction is to be completed by the end of the year.




Donation recognized


The Washington County Board of Education on Tuesday recognized a $3,862.80 donation made by the Leonard P. Snyder Fund Inc. to Clear Spring High School.

The donation will be used to purchase computers for the school's library.
