Man found guilty on drug charges

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Judge Frederick P. Stamp Jr. levied a guilty verdict Wednesday against a 19-year-old man on drug charges.

Aaron C. Lewis, whose most recent address was unavailable, was convicted on 12 counts issued against him in June, according to a news release from the office of the United States Attorney, Northern District of West Virginia. The charges against Lewis included one count of conspiracy to distribute in excess of 50 grams of crack cocaine and 11 counts of distribution of the drug, the release said.

The release said the offenses occurred in northern West Virginia between January 1999 and June 2003.

Six of the charges could result in a maximum punishment of 20 years imprisonment, and a fine of $1 million each, according to the release. The remaining offenses carry a maximum penalty of 20 years to life, each, and a $4 million fine, the release said.
