The Cramptons

Preston A. and Mary A. Crampton of Hagerstown celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary at a small dinner party, April 23, 2003, at the Airport Inn. The dinner was hosted by their daughters and spouse, Barbara Linthicum of Frederick, Md., and Linda and Steve Jessee of Big Pool. Daughter and spouse Donna and David Churchey of Denver were unable to attend.

The Cramptons were married April 23, 1943, at Hillsdale Farm in Keedysville, home of Mrs. Crampton, by the Rev. D. Homer Kendall, now deceased.

Mrs. Crampton is the former Mary Coffman, daughter of the late John and Lela Coffman. She is a retired Washington County school teacher

Mr. Crampton, formerly of Sharpsburg, retired from Maryland Correctional Institution.

The Cramptons have one granddaughter.

The Woodwards

Earl and Eleonore Woodward of Hagerstown celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Friday, June 13, 2003, in Bruckenau, Germany.

They were married June 13, 1953, in Gessingen, Germany.


The Woodwards celebrated again Sunday, July 6, at a surprise dinner hosted by family and friends at Mountain Gate Restaurant in Waynesboro, Pa.

The Woodwards worked in Europe and Nigeria, Africa.

Mr. Woodward retired from teaching in 1991.
