Catherine M. Schroyer


WILLIAMSPORT - Catherine Margaret Schroyer, 77, of 16634 Buford Drive, died Thursday, July 24, 2003, at her home.

Born Oct. 13, 1925, in Williamsport, she was the daughter of the late Ira M. and Mary Elizabeth Turner Shipley.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth E. Schroyer, in 2001.

She was a 1943 graduate of Williamsport High School.

She retired from Cushwa Brick Co. in Williamsport.

She was a member of Williamsport United Methodist Church.

She was a member of Potomac Garden Club; and Red Feather Council 59 Degree of Pocahontas of Williamsport.

She is survived by two great-nieces; two great-great-nephews; and one great-great-great-nephew.

She was preceded in death by one brother, William Shipley.

Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Williamsport United Methodist Church. Pastor Peter Guadalupe will officiate. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Williamsport.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Osborne Funeral Home, Williamsport, which will open at 9 a.m.

The family requests the omission of flowers.

Clara Dick


WILLIAMSPORT - Clara Dick, 101, formerly of 101 Clyde Morris Blvd. in Ormond Beach, Fla., died Thursday, July 24, 2003, at Homewood Nursing Home in Williamsport.

Born Feb. 25, 1902, in York County, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Mervin and Elizabeth Burgner Shambaugh.

She was preceded in death by her husband, R. H. Dick, in 1957.

She was employed by the federal government as a secretary.

She was of the Methodist faith.

She is survived by twin daughters, Dorothy D. Friddle of Martinsburg, W.Va., and Jeanne D. Kroll of Oxford, Conn.; one son, the Rev. James M. Dick of Remsen, N.J.; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.

A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.

There will be no viewing.

Memorial donations may be made to Homewood Nursing Home, 16505 Virginia Ave., Williamsport, MD 21795.

Arrangements are by Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown.




Janet L. Fraley


Janet Louise Fraley, 74, of 16805 Alcott Road, Hagerstown, died Thursday, July 24, 2003, at her home.

Born Oct. 15, 1928, in Shady Grove, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Nathan Miller and Mary Stine Hose.

She was employed by Eyerly's Department Store for 24 years, retiring in 1984.

She was a member of First Christian Church.

She is survived by her husband, William C. Fraley; one daughter, Linda Baxter of Apopka, Fla.; two sons, Dennis Fraley of Frederick, Md., and Jeffery Fraley of Hagerstown; one sister, Marie Lehman of Hagerstown; one brother, Donald Hose of Ralston, Pa.; four grandchildren; and one niece.

A memorial service will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, East Wilson Boulevard, Hagerstown. The Rev. Dean M. Miller will officiate. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

There will be no viewing.

Lois L. Haden


Lois Lorraine Haden, 62, of 12835 Point Salem Road, Hagerstown, died Wednesday, July 23, 2003, at her home.

Born May 2, 1941, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of Cornelia L. Shry Miner Rodgers of Hagerstown and the late Walter K. Miner Jr.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard H. Haden Sr., in 1992.

She was a member of Morris Frock Post 42 American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by two sons, Richard H. Haden Jr. of Rohrersville, and Tyree A. Haden of Waynesboro, Pa.; one sister, Bertha Haden of Hagerstown; two brothers, Wilbur Miner of Boonsboro and Paul Miner of Williamsport; four grandchildren; three aunts; nieces; nephews; and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her stepfather, Harry Rodgers.

Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, Hagerstown. The Rev. Larry L. Rickard will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Hagerstown.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Barbara D. Culler


FREDERICK, Md. - Ms. Barbara Diane Culler, 48, of 6804 Running Springs Court, Frederick, died of cancer Wednesday, July 23, 2003.

Born March 14, 1955, she was the third daughter of the late Roy Chalmers and Mary Bell Culler.

Ms. Culler was a 1973 graduate of Governor Thomas Johnson High School and a 1979 graduate of Shepherd College with a degree in parks administration.
