Graphic pictures of aborted fetuses on the side of a tractor-trailer-sized truck will be part of a demonstration next week.

The Defend Life group is sponsoring a Truth Tour, during which group members will walk the sidewalks along West Washington and Walnut streets in downtown Hagerstown Monday from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m.

Participants will carry a series of posters depicting aborted fetuses, said Jack Ames, director of Defend Life.

He said the first posters in the series will warn people of the graphic nature of the posters that follow. The first posters will be several blocks ahead of the others so that people will have time to leave the area if they do not want to see the posters or do not want their children to see them, Ames said.

He said the poster series gradually will become more graphic, first showing developing fetuses, with the final ones showing the aborted fetuses.

"Abortion is very graphic and we're trying to arouse people's sentiments," Ames said.

In addition to the posters, a tractor-trailer sized truck, called the Truth Truck, will carry large photos of aborted fetuses on its side and back panels. The Center for Bio-Ethical Reform is providing the truck, Ames said.

Ames said he does not have control over where the truck goes because that will be up to the driver.
