July 22, 2003

CatherineAnne Frances Bisnett, 46, of no fixed address, pleaded guilty Monday to one count of reckless endangerment stemming from an attack on a 91-year-old woman in Boonsboro, according to court records.

Bisnett is to be sentenced after she completes the Jail Substance Abuse Program later this summer.

Authorities withdrew several other charges including first- and second-degree assault, resisting arrest and reckless driving, according to records.

Sheriff's deputies responded to a March 15 fight at the intersection of Alt. U.S. 40 and Md. 66, according to police. Deputies said they saw a woman choking 91-year-old Mary Garnand with a seat belt from the older woman's car.

Police said Garnand, who suffered minor injuries, tried to drive away and dragged Bisnett with the car for several hundred feet.

Deputies also said Bisnett, who they alleged apparently was under the influence of PCP and cocaine, yelled and laid on the road.
