Hilda P. Saylor

WILLIAMSPORT - Hilda P. Saylor, 92, of Homewood at Williamsport, and formerly of Baltimore, died Sunday, July 20, 2003, at Washington County Hospital.

Born Jan. 21, 1911, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Leonard J. and Mabel G. Stouffer Saylor.

She was a 1929 graduate of Hagerstown High School, and a 1933 graduate of Union Memorial Hospital Training for Nurses.

She retired from Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore in 1976.

She is survived by two nieces.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Robert C. Saylor.

Graveside services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown. The Rev. Reginald Rice will officiate.

Arrangements are by Rest Haven Funeral Chapel in Hagerstown.

Harold M. Burkhart

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Harold M. Burkhart, 89, of 320 Overhill Drive, died Saturday, July 19, 2003, at Chambersburg Hospital.


Born June 13, 1914, in Chambersburg, he was the son of the late Christian and Alverta Myers Burkhart.

His wife, Dorothy "Do" Beachley Burkhart, died Nov. 15, 2000.

He was a 1932 graduate of Chambersburg High School and a 1936 graduate of Gettysburg College.

He was chief accountant at Wilson College from 1956 to 1970.

He served in the U.S. Army Medical Corps during World War II.

He was a member of First Lutheran Church.

He was a member of Kiwanis Club.

Services will be held Friday at 10:30 a.m. at Robert G. Sellers Funeral Home. The Rev. Charles Kampmeyer will officiate. Burial will be in Norland Cemetery.

Visitation will be Friday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home.

George L. Landacre

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - George L. Landacre, 67, of 626 Cumberland Ave., and formerly of Greencastle, Pa., died Saturday, July 19, 2003.

Private services and burial will be held in Rose Hill Cemetery, Hagerstown.

Arrangements are by Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Chambersburg.

Vivian D. Spencer

Vivian Dorothy Mae Spencer, 83, of Hagerstown, died Friday, July 18, 2003, at Potomac Center in Hagerstown.

Born May 22, 1920, in Clarksburg, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Luther R. and Josephine Williams Redman.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ambrose L. Spencer.

She was a retired employee of the Venice Hotel, Hagerstown.

She is survived by one son, Edward H. Spencer of Baltimore; three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Mabel Johnson and Genevieve Johnson.

Services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Gerald N. Minnich Funeral Home, North Potomac Street, Hagerstown. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

There will be no viewing.

Clarence R. Judd

Clarence Raymond Judd, 83, formerly of 18502 Sherbrooke Drive, Hagerstown, died Monday, July 21, 2003, at Concord (N.H.) Hospital.

Born July 19, 1920, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late William Roy and Elsa Crawford Judd.

His wife, June A. Judd, died April 1, 2001.

He was employed by Fairchild Aircraft for 45 years.

He was a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church and the Men's Sunday School class.

He was a member of B.P.O. Elks 378.

He is survived by one son, Richard R. Judd of Boscawen, N.H.; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, East Wilson Boulevard, Hagerstown. The Revs. Stephen D. Robison and Patricia Sebring will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Friday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Otterbein United Methodist Church Building Fund, 108 E. Franklin St., Hagerstown, MD 21740.

Myrtle C. Rexrode

FAYETTEVILLE, Pa. - Myrtle C. Waybright Rexrode, 77, of 11872 Loop Road, died Sunday, July 20, 2003, at Quincy (Pa.) United Methodist Home.

Born Oct. 23, 1925, in Blue Grass, Va., she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Mary Wimer Waybright.

She attended school in Middle Mountain, Va.

Her husband, Olie Rexrode, died April 29, 1987. They were married March 6, 1948.

Prior to her retirement in 1987, she returned to South Mountain Restoration Center as a nursing aide completing a total of 26 years there.

She was a member of South Mountain (Pa.) Bible Church, the Adult Bible School class and was active in the Keenagers Senior Group.

She was a member of Waynesboro Fish and Game Association.

She is survived by two daughters, Gail S. Rexrode and Dinah M. Kauffman, both of South Mountain; two sons, Dennis C. Rexrode of Duffield, Pa., and Steven W. Rexrode of South Mountain; two sisters, Susie Rexrode and Bessie Hoover, both of Moyers, W.Va.; two brothers, Delbert Waybright of Elkins, W.Va., and Martin Waybright of South Mountain; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; six stepgreat-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Victor L. Rexrode and David E. Rexrode; and one brother, Alvy Waybright.
