MT. AIRY, Md. - Eric Fitzgerald homered and doubled as Williamsport bounced back to win the second game of the Western Maryland District doubleheader in eight innings.
Winning pitcher Andy Taylor allowed three hits in seven innings while striking out seven, and Casey Constable pitched a scoreless eighth for the save.
Zeb Jacobs scored the winning run for Williamsport on a sacrifice fly by T.J. Bowser.
In the first game, Corey Green led Mt. Airy with four hits, while Ryan Mantura pitched a six-hit shutout.
Funkstown 7-11, Frederick 8-3
FREDERICK, Md. - Matt Hess had three hits and four RBI as Funkstown bounced back to take the second game of the doubleheader.
David Miner had two hits and three RBI and Kyle Robinson added two hits to the win.
Travis Hebron paced Frederick in the first game with three hits. Miner and Phillip Powell each had two hits for Funkstown (24-12, 4-3).

NABF Mid-Atlantic Tournament
Funkstown 11, Williamsport 8: Winning pitcher Orland Dean lead Funkstown with four hits, while Matt Murray, Jeremy McAfee and Jordan Beard each had two hits. One of Murray's hits was a two-run homer.
Phillip Jordan and Ryan Chaney each had three hits for Williamsport, while Cody Beard had two hits. Beard and Jordan each homered.
Chesapeake 10, Funkstown 1
Howard County 8-5, Huntington 7-14
Chesapeake plays Huntingdon in the championship game today at 12:30.
9-10 Little League sectional
Thurmont 6, Conococheague 0: Derek Szbados and R.J. Smith combined to pitch a one-hit shutout for Thurmont. Szbados and Smith also had two hits each.
Smithsburg 9-10 Tournament
Valley 12, Rockville 8: Ryan Willard had two hits and struck out 10 to lead Valley. Aaron Dinterman had three hits and Kameron Moral had two for the winners.
Thomas Evans 11-12 Tournament
National 14, Sharpsburg 4: Brandon Knight had three hits, while Craig Oxyer, Adrian Adams and R.J. Roby each added two for National. Wes Samples and Nick Groves each homered in the win. Seth Poffenberger and A.J. Jamison had two hits each for Sharpsburg.
Thomas Evans 7-8 Tournament
Valley White 21, Sharpsburg 20: Austin Stone led Valley White with three hits, while Ryan Karroll, Shane Fritts and Bryan Tracey each added two. Tyler Anders, Brent Mayers and Josh Hensley each had two hits for Sharpsburg.

Spinnler wins mile race
WINCHESTER, Va. - Maria Spinnler, 41, of Hagerstown, won the women's division of the Loudoun Street Mile in 5 minutes, 21 seconds.
The win was worth $300.
Jason Long, of the D.C. Track Club, won the men's race in a course-record 4:10.
