Mail Call

July 16, 2003

"Can anyone tell me when they are going to start doing work on the Broadfording bridge? They have it closed off where it goes across Conococheague Creek. It has been closed now for about two weeks. It would be worth going out of my way by 10 minutes if they were actually doing something on the bridge."

"Does anyone have the 800 number for the tax credit check information? Someone put it in before, but I misplaced it. Someone also put something in that the only ones who are getting a check are the ones who make $15,000 or less. Is that true? I was told in the beginning that anyone with children will be getting checks. What is true?"

"I would like to get someone from the Lions Club in Hagers-town to call me. Since they have no number in the phone book. I need help in getting glasses. My number is 301-745-5617. My work number is 301-739-5838 in the evenings. I am home in the day time."

"Why is it that when Clinton got caught in a lie of a sexual nature and people went crazy and started yelling Impeachment, but when it comes out that Bush and his administration used information that was wrong and false in a speech in an effort to push the United States into war with Iraq, nobody cares? You need to re-examine your priorities and stop giving Bush a free ride. We didn't get bin Laden or Sadaam, all we are doing is losing several soldiers every day. Bring them home President Bush. Wake up, Americans."

"I read in the paper where our County Commissioners were confused about a vote that they made. I don't understand, everyone is in the same room, sitting at the same table, but people are coming up with different interpretations of what was said. I thought these guys were supposed to be professionals? We have one commissioner saying that the others don't know what is going on."

"Why does The Herald-Mail identify a shooting that took place in the 900 block of Pennsylvania Avenue as having occurred downtown?"

"I hope that the minor league players get some publicity when they start their tournaments on July 12."

"Thank you for the great fireworks at the Fairgrounds. Our family really enjoyed them."
