Man to stand trial in robbery

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - A Chambersburg man sentenced Wednesday to 8 1/2 to 35 years in prison for armed robbery is scheduled for trial Monday, July 21, on another armed robbery, according to the Franklin County District Attorney's Office.

Corey L. Williams, 21, of 412 Linden Ave., was tried and found guilty in June of the March 3, 2002, robbery of a Rouzerville, Pa., 7-Eleven store. Williams now faces trial for the Jan. 30, 2002, holdup of a Getty Mart in St. Thomas, Pa.

The store was robbed by a masked man who forced the clerk and customers to the floor and fired a shot before fleeing with $282, according to Pennsylvania State Police. In addition to robbery, Williams is charged with recklessly endangering another person, theft, terroristic threats and simple assault, according to court records.

Williams' trial was scheduled during a pre-trial conference Thursday before Judge Richard J. Walsh, according to court records
