CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - An autopsy performed on a Greencastle, Pa., woman killed Monday in a one-car accident in Montgomery Township has determined she was the driver of the vehicle, according to Franklin County Coroner Jeffrey R. Conner.

"She is being listed now as the operator," Conner said Wednesday after learning the results of the autopsy performed Wednesday morning on Cathy Jane Daley at Lehigh Valley Medical Center in Allentown, Pa. Conner had pronounced her dead at the scene of a 5:51 p.m. accident south of Pa. 16 on Pa. 416.

Conner said Daley, 49, of 15125 Maryland Line Road, died of blunt force trauma to the head. She was driving a 1989 Ford Escort south when the car went off the road and struck a guard rail and a utility pole.

The driver's side of the car struck the utility pole, according to Pennsylvania State Police. Police initially reported that they were unable to determine who was driving the car.

"She didn't have a lap belt on or we wouldn't have questioned it in the first place," Conner said.

Conner said the car was equipped with passive shoulder belts, but partially rolled over after the accident, leaving doubt as to whether she had been driving.

Pennsylvania State Police said Tuesday they had questioned an unidentified person who may have been in the car at the time of the accident.
