District 1 Senior All-Stars


Valley 26, Clear Spring 3: Mike Fox, Joe Acre and Matt Feiser had three hits, Josh Daniels, Wayne Rumbaugh, Luke Kerr and Tyler Wolford had two hits and Rumbaugh, Feiser and Jim Harmon homered for Valley.

Hagerstown PONY League


Elks 12, Redmen 2: Jason Sutherland, Brock Jamison and Chuck Dobson each had two hits for Elks. One of Sutherland's hits was a home run. Joey Siler had three hits and Nick Bodnar had two for Redmen.

Firefighters 13, Eagles 11: Brock Kettoman and Josh Anders each had two hits for Eagles.

Emmitsburg 11-12 Tourney


Smithsburg 11, Emmitsburg 6: Josh Conway and Dustin Pellegrino each had three hits as Smithsburg finished the tournament unbeaten. Cody Snavely, Bryant Hooper, Chris Pitsnogle and Alex Akers each had two for Smithsburg.

High School Division


Ace 18, Long Meadow Rotary 2: Ashley Creek had three hits, including a homer, to lead Ace.

Aladdin 12, Redmen 1: Carrisa Chaney had three hits, Kara Williamson had two hits, and Christina Embly and Misty Marker homered for Aladdin. Kelly Toms had two hits for Redmen.

Hagerstown 10 Fayetteville 0


FAYETTEVILLE, Pa. - Chris Black went 3-for-4 and Black, Patt Sweeney and Nathan Butts all drove in two runs as the Hagerstown Braves blanked the Fayetteville AA's.

Butts hit a pinch-hit, solo homer in Hagerstown's seven-run seventh inning. Wade Knight and Danny Fowler added two hits each for the Braves (23-2, 22-2).

Hagerstown opens play in the double-elimination Firecracker Invitational Friday at 10 a.m. at New Cumberland, Pa.




JUNIOR LEGION



Funkstown 11 Williamsport 4


Orland Dean pitched 5 2/3 innings of scoreless relief and A.J. Bandeff had a homer and four RBI for Funkstown (12-4). Colby Thompson had three hits, while Patrick Hutzler and Nate Steelman each had two for Funkstown. Bobby Riggs hit a three-run homer and Brad Turner had two hits for Williamsport.




ADULT LEAGUES



Wash. County Co-Rec


4-Star Athletic Complex 18, Keefer's Lawn Care 6: Lindsey Secrest had four hits and four RBI, while Anthony Robinson had four hits and three RBI for 4-Star.

Bill Baisey 14, ARC of Washington County 4: Donnie Blickenstaff, Jeff Barnhart and Pete Barnhart homered for Bill Baisey. Blickenstaff, Jeff Barnhart, Cindy Barnhart and Mike Green each had three hits.

Deafnet 15, Minnick's Plumbing 8: Mike Lewis was had four hits, including three home runs and 10 RBI, to lead Deafnet. Jeremy Waechter had two home runs and three RBI and Angie Nibert added two hits in the victory. Dana Bowman had two hits Minnick's.

Hub City Softball


Miller Lite/Broadaxe 15, Barrett's 5: Timmy Smith and John Mahoney had three hits, Pork Wallech homered twice and Smith and Greg McCoy homered for Miller Lite.




BRIEFS



HCC baseballers honored


The Hagerstown Community College baseball team recently had several players named to league and region teams.

Justin Wenger and Ryan Devlin were named to both the All-Eastern District first team and the Region XX first team.

Devlin and Wenger were joined on the All-Maryland JuCo Division 1 first team by Travis Hebron, Paul Conway and Devan Ewell.

Four Hawks will continue their playing careers at Division I colleges next season. Devlin will play at the University of Pittsburgh, Wenger will play at Delaware State and Bryan Crossley and Nick Wenger will play at Coppin State.

Four Washington County players will suit up for the Hawks in 2004 - North Hagerstown's Cole Bellon and Matt Tedrick and Smithsburg's Jeff Mills and David Gouff.
