Second, during the first century in the city of Corinth, there was a well-known worship of the fertility goddess named Dianah. This temple of worship was run by women prostitutes.

Third, just take a look at our present day situation, the Washington County Hot Spot on Jonathan Street. Zion Baptist Church, under the leadership of Pastor Haru Carter, has witnessed substantial growth numerically, as well as spiritually.

It is no news that over the last two decades many of the mainstream denominations in ecumenicalism have fallen off sharply in attendance. One reason is that many non-denominational independent churches, as well as Pentacostal and charismatic churches, have answered the call producing soldiers marching forward in God's army, not retreating.

So, let's get the decision straight. There's pressure from those uncomfortable with their existing building, not from the true body of Christ. For we realize that God is seeking willing vessels to be used as instruments of his love, mercy and grace - especially to the downtrodden drug addict, prostitute, transient and so on. Why not take a stand firmly for Jesus and move in the community like a mighty army as never before with power, love, peace, and a sound mind - rather than leaving in fear.
